There's nothing more that I can say that everyone else hasn't, except that there's a few familiar jerseys on the SportsCenter Top 10 this morning.

So, I guess we don't need an Olympic year to beat the western "powerhouses".

Now that we have a 2nd notch in our belt, what are the prospects for next year? Any non-seniors leaving?

Awesome job, hopefully traffic picks up on here because of this along with traffic inside of Cheel as these women deserve AT LEAST 1,000 + every game. There might be a slight drop off in terms of goals as Mercer and Bannon will not be replaced, the defense only loses Jacobson with Harmon, Kennan, Pozzebon Shelton, Turnquist all returning so that will obviously be the strength of the team with Tiley in between the pipes. Pejzolva will probably center Gabel so they will put up big points but still will be tough to equal Mercer and Bannons total, McGill on the wing with them maybe, potentially even Cassidy Vinkle. Clarkson should still be up in the top 2-3 of the ECAC and I think they're always going to be in the national championship discussion from now on but next season will be based on if they can score enough to get there.

Pinto is no longer one of our recruits according to Neutralzone.net. She is going to Mercyhurst.

2017 Clarkson Recruits from Neutralzone.net supposedly #3 in the nation behind Minny and Wisco.

    Elizabeth Giguere Limoilou -F- 21Gms 32G/37A
    Kristy Pidgeon Nepean Jr Wildcats -F- 35Gms - 13G/29A Playoffs 10Gms - 3G/1A
    Michaela Boyle Boston Shamrocks U19 -F- 28Gms 15G/9A
    Tiana Stoddard Nepean Jr Wildcats -F- 38Gms - 22G/13A Playoffs 10Gms - 4G/2A

    Avery Mitchell Toronto Jr Aeros -D- 32Gms - 3G/2A Playoffs 7Gms - 0G/2A
    Megan Hector Oakville Jr Hornets -D- 33Gms - 6G/9A Playoffs 8Gms - 0G/3A

    Kia Castonguay Boston Shamrocks U19 -G- 19Gms 3.76GAA .890Sv%

Giguere is the big, no HUGE catch in this class. #4 recruit in NC$$ Div 1 Think Jamie Lee/Cayley.
Pidgeon, Mitchell and Hector all played on the Canadian under 18 team this year.

And the pipeline in 2018 and 2019 is being well stocked.

    2018

Miranda Gaudet Okanagan Hockey Academy CSSHL F
    Morgan Helgeson F

    Marie-Pier Coulombe Limoilou CEGEP G

2019 per Neutralzone.net #1 in the nation recruiting class (but it is still early)

    Alice Fillion Limoilou CEGEP F
Canada Audrey-Anne Veillette Stanstead College NAPHA F
Canada Gabrielle David Limoilou CEGEP F

United States Emily Wisnewski Wayzata High School MNHS D
Lauren Bernard Pittsburgh Penguins Elite U16 Independent D 2019

Myself and other posters that follow the women's team have been saying that for the last 5 years. It is a real shame that the townies and to a certain extent more of the student population don't support the women. It is great that the pep band seems to always have a contingent at the women's games. I am looking forward to seeing what the schedule is for the upcoming season. I have to make a trip up to Potsdam to see the new hardware and to catch a game or 3 or 4 (hopefully when the men and women are playing in Potsdam in the same weekend. I would imagine the women will be playing at Penn State this season so that is a certain road trip for my wife and I as well as a trip up to Princeton (as long as the health issue stay under control).

I would expect that from Mark - after all he is Badger Bob's son. On the disallowed goal, the ref blew the whistle before the shot was taken (as soon as the Wisco player touched the puck) and he was emphatic in waving no goal.

Vic: I expect the first game of the fall will include the banner hanging and the celebration, including giving out the championship rings - at least that's what they did for the first one. I did attend that one, and will try to go to this one as well - very impressive. Clarkson spent the airfare to collect the 7 graduated seniors from the last team to be there, and I would expect that they would do it again. A D-1 National Championship certainly justifies a bang up ceremony.

I think I said this before, but I think us, SLU, Minny and Wisconsin should enter into a 4 year scheduling agreement similar to what the men have. It would be great for the game.

Twitter had some real nice videos from Cap and the team showing the trip back and the arrival at Cheel.

Very happy for the Lady Golden Knights. Well deserved and it clearly shows that Matt is one awesome coach and has his program in the right direction with momentum.

Not so happy with the NCAA who determined the Most Outstanding Player Award - our whomever did that voting. Perhaps they were paying back for the Patty K. award, but Shea Tiley should have been the Most Outstanding Player. To play two games in a less than neutral site against that buck-toothed gopher squad and stop 28 of 31, and then face the all-year long #1 team from Bucky-land, coached by the most excellent coach in all hockey, and stop all 41 shots....how in the heck doesn't that earn you the Most Outstanding player award?

No disrespect to Cayley here....but if you've never stopped 41 saves with no goals, you just do not know how hard that is to do. To do that in the most important game of the year and of your life, just wow.

I didn't see the game, though, as I was watching our Golden Knight mascot get a little tan and a little dirty down in Florida (just in case anyone was wondering why the Golden Knight wasn't there at the game...unless there was a fill-in).

I thought the CU representation at the final was fantastic. The pep band outshined the WU band, they played constantly while the Badgers sat on their hands, and the CU band the class to do an impromptu Canadian national anthem, nice!

The roar from the Clarkson fans after the 2nd goal was incredible. The whining of the Wisconsin fans after the disallowed goal was embarrassing, the whistle was clearly before the goal and the crosscheck by Clark was clearly a penalty. The no call for boarding against Shelton (who is going to be a hell of a player) was much worse.

Shout out to fellow RT member JoseyWales who was at the game with me, it was an awesome game and I'm so proud of the Lady Knights!

Because she needed another honor: Mercer has been named USCHO.com Player of the Year. That makes sense since USCHO takes postseason into account. Congratulations to Mercer and stay tuned for the rest of USCHO's awards.
