You were at the Clarkson games in Colorado, correct? How did the team look from your perspective? Was Walsh really quick and focused as it sounded on the webcast?
If you were not there, just delete this thread, as I am a total moron.

Apologies for my delay in response & getting new threads started; I've been snowed under with pre-Thanksgiving work.
Yes, I was present at the games, although I missed the pre-game tailgate party on Saturday due to a late return from Denver. I did not meet anyone there -- did any Colorado Roundtable users see me at the games? (I was in Section 216, rows E & F, wearing a tan fedora hat & tan jacket on both nights)
IMHO: I think the team did as well as we could have expected, given the limitations of a larger rink, higher altitude (6,035 feet ASL), and an EXTREMELY hostile home crowd.
As vicb mentioned on the USCHO board, Walsh actually kept the game from being a total slaughter on Friday -- he had some pretty good saves, on both Friday and Saturday. (Some believe that some of the Saturday night goals were weak)
We had a big problem keeping the puck in the Colorado zone, and keeping CC out of OUR zone. However, as
Bearing in mind:
This was pretty much the first time I've ever been able to sit and WATCH a Clarkson hockey game -- IN PERSON -- without having my attention distracted by a TV graphics generator, five TV monitors in my face, guys telling dirty jokes over the headsets, having to pound Hell out of a computer keyboard every time someone scored, etc. As such, my perceptions of the game may be a bit lean &/or off base, as I'm not used to watching games solely as a spectator.
Which tells me I should get to games more often...
Scott...our recent Clarkson graduate was at the Saturday knight game at CC 7 his report was that the crowd was "lame". Can you explain why you thought it was a hostile crowd?

Perception of crowd hostility, or lack thereof, is subjective. This was my first game as a true spectator and some of my observations -- especially those concerning the crowd -- are probably way off base.
I gotta watch more games; it's as simple as that. I don't mean to beat around the bush, but I probably can't render a totally effective opinion on the crowd simply because I haven't heard a sufficient mix of home/away crowds that I can compare this game against.

Good news for you...Tech will be playing in the Denver Cup tourney next year...thats a Christmas tourney right?
Is it played on campus or at the new arena where the Avs play...the name of which escapes me!

Sweet! I'm sure every alumna on the Front Range is going to love to hear this (once the scheduling becomes official, if it isn't already so). I wouldn't know for sure where it would be played since this is the first I've heard of it, but my guess is it would be played on campus.
[The arena you're thinking of is the Pepsi Center]
