As usual the coaches that vote in the poll do not think much of the Golden Knights or ECAC hockey.
There are 3 teams with losing records ahead of us and Cornell is only 11th with North Dakota who has a losing record at #9.

strength of schedule is what its more about....hate to tell ya, but we don't deserve to be any higher than we are right now. of course, after we sweep CC this weekend, it will be a different story.

yeah, but how does Cornell's schedule stack up to Tech's as far as strength of schedule? I don't reckon Cornell's is all that impressive to warrant a placing that high in the poll.

ECAC hockey has been on the down cycle since about 1989. I think St. Lawrence has been our only real shot since then. I don't look to favorably on our league until the NC games a little farther into the year. We always seem to be one step behind.

Earl -
I don't think that anyone will argue that the ECAC has lost respect over the last decade or so, but to say that SLU has been the only "shot" since the late 80's is incredible:confused: . Especially from a Techer. Clearly Clarkson has been the standard bearer for the conference most years from the final four appearance in '91 to the consistent appearences in the NCAA'a through the rest of the '90's. Granted we've not done so well in the tourney but from the ECAC we've been the one team there year in and year out with few exceptions.:)
Let's go Tech!!

Well said Chuck! The critics, particularly those from cornell who love to accuse us of "choking", need to look in the mirror since no ECAC team has had more NCAA appearances than us in the past decade..of that I am fairly sure.
It was great to see Slu do so well in recent years but where have all the others been? Sounds more like sour grapes when they criticize us! :D

Yeah, maybe the others are just jealous? When i went to pick up my ticket for the Northeastern game, I was chatting with the guy at the ticket window, he asked what years I was at CU, and then he was like "You guys had some goooood teams up there"(from '95-'00). And this was from a Hockey East person....

Well, there you go! It's just a bitter jealous handful that feel the need to trash Tech's tournament performance...call it jealousy I agree!
Say, are you expecting a good Tech turnout at the NE and Providence games? We had hoped to attend but couldn't swing it so I made the trip to Potsdam last weekend instead.
The two games in New England are definitely winnable...especially if PC remains in their current funk.
LETS GO TECH!!!

Don't get me wrong! I want to see at least one NCAA Championship Banner hanging in Cheel before I die. I really believe we can do it. Excuse me for my short-sighted comment about SLU. I stand corrected and have given my team little credit.
The CC games this weekend are going to be tough. These early season wins against NC teams could make all the difference for our chances due to motivation.
It is the same every year, but I will say it anyway. We need these wins this weekend to get any respect. We need to at least come within a goal and push right down to the buzzer of the third period. We can get 4 points this weekend. Our team has done well without 4 major point people.
Only Capt. and A. Capt. are back this week, right? No return from injuries, correct?
