Somewhat surprised by that considering he was the Captain. One of my favorite Knight players.

Cyclones general manager and coach Chris Cichocki announced today that the team has waived left winger Mike Casselman. Casselman, in his fourth season as a Cyclone, was the team’s captain.

Casselman appeared in 18 games for the Clones this season scoring nine points on four goals and five assists. Casselman is in his 13th season of pro hockey. Casselman is now eligible to be claimed by any ECHL team.

it appears he wanted to retire at the end of the 02-03 season, but may have stayed on to help the transition or realized they weren't going to win it all?
