Face off in about 20 mins as the game is on TV again tonight.

Keys to tonight's game:

-Keep up the intensitity: With Cornell last night and SLU next Saturday, Clarkson can't lose focus tonight.

-Score early, Score often: Colgate has given up 5 first period goals and has scored 3. However the Raiders have scored 11 third period goals to their opponents 7. Clarkson will need to gain a lead and hold it.

-Rattle the netminders: Cann has never played well against Clarkson. Silverthorn has not played against Clarkson at all. If Clarkson can shoot often enough at these guys to get the rattled, good things will happen.

With another penalty coming up on Clarkson. Colgate cahses in on the 5 on 3.

And Clarkson gets a penalty after the goal as Faulkner goes for Crosschecking.

Scuderi is out of the box and Faulkner is in.

NICKERSON! An excellent replacement for Jones. The BLESSED CURSE.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 09:04 PM
Knights get a shorthanded chance by Brekelmans. Stopped by Cann.

Nickersons penalty changed to a double minor. So add 2 more minutes to the Colgate power play.

The Knights have taken the game off up to this point. Theyre lucky its still only 1-0 so far.

Confusion on the penalties. Should be 3 on the Blessed Curse.

2 penalties on Clarkson.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 09:10 PM
Colgate on the 5 on 4 now for the next 2:46.

Game has no pace or flow. Neither team able to establish offense. I'm glad this team didn't show up last night. Cornell would have blown us out of the water.

Goal Colgate

John Smythe connects on a back door PP goal.

Colgate 2 - Tech 0

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 09:21 PM
Kolu hits the post on a break, and Lush hits the post on the rebound.

Still no crowd reaction...

John Smythe taps in a rebound after the Clarkson D breaks down.

This is sad..

mccullmw
11-15-2003, 09:36 PM
I don't know, it's kinda like a train wreck.

You don't want to watch, yet you can't tear yourself away.

Understatement of the night from the TV broadcast: "Clearly the Knights have some work ahead of them."

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 09:38 PM
End of 2.

Talk about falling into a 'Tweener game. Alot of energy used last night, perhaps a little bit of looking ahead to the SLU game.

Whatever it is, I don't like it.

4-0 Colgate

Start of the 3rd.

Colgate 4 Clarkson 0 - If the shut out holds this will be the 1st time EVER Colgate has shut out Clarkson in the history of the series. Shameless plug to jinx the shutout.

That was vicb spreading some karma on USCHO.com.

Clarkson starts the 3rd on the penalty kill for 42 seconds.

mccullmw
11-15-2003, 09:56 PM
I think jinxes only work when you're a fan of the team with the shutout.

The student section is almost empty. Looks like lots of people have left. Probably to drink away the memories of this game.

5-0 and a hat trick for John Smyth.

Shoot me now.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 09:58 PM
Clarkson kills the PP. Colgate (2 for 6)

Play is now even with no offense being generated, again.

Colgate is playing this one out, Clarkson needs to find some desperation energy.

John Smythe knocks in his own rebound and picks up the hat trick.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:00 PM
This is bad...

Never sounded like many students where there to start.

Under 16 min TV timeout.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:02 PM
Clarkson goes on the power play as Colgates Spencer is called for Obstruction Interference.

mccullmw
11-15-2003, 10:02 PM
And the PP is negated as Latulippe heads to the box.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:03 PM
Well, Jay LaTulippe is back to his old form picking up a Cross Checking minor.

4 on 4 for the next 1:16

Earl_Leatherland
11-15-2003, 10:06 PM
Thank goodness only the Niagara University game is on here.

mccullmw
11-15-2003, 10:06 PM
The puck just made it's way into John Sullivan's pants.

That actually made me laugh.

To quote a familiar pep band chant, normally reserved for when the game is over, "GIVE ME A BEER!"

We're gonna need lots of them to forget this embarassment.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:06 PM
Clarkson kills the penalty. (Colgate 2-7 : Clarkson 0 - 4)

10:45 left in the 3rd.

Earl_Leatherland
11-15-2003, 10:07 PM
Western Michigan 2 - Niagara University 1

I could care less about either of these teams, but this is embarassing.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:10 PM
5:30 left in the 3rd.

Only drama now is the shutout for Cann.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:13 PM
Cann stops two good chances from Faulkner.

Roll had broken up the 10-11-12 line, but then put them back together. I have a feeling we won't see that line next week.

Colgate nearly adds a 6th as Kelly hits the post.

Shots are surprisingly even.

7:30 left in the 3rd. I guess bob mispoke last time.

mccullmw
11-15-2003, 10:16 PM

Nickerson gets another penalty

2 for elbowing.

So tonights total was 16 PIM. Bringing his season total to 57.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:28 PM
Edwards getting roughed up.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:30 PM
Well that was bad.

Brett Gobe
11-15-2003, 10:42 PM
The team from last night wasn't even near the building, let alone on the ice. Tonight's performance was easily the worst of the season.

The decision to pull Traylen was a good call. He was not sharp and the team needed a shot in the arm. Expect to see Dustin back in action on Saturday.

Like I said before this game was a game the team looked over. After playing a nationaly ranked rival, and playing the biggest rival next weekend, this team snuck in a took it to the Knights.

The power play isn't good, regardless of how many goals we scored in previous games. 1 for 6, with the 1 being a garbage powerplay at the end. We are now 1 for our last 13 powerplay attempts. Thats not going to win games.

Nickerson needs to find some disicipline. Last night was great. Tonight was not. Apparently he's either gonna get 0 PIM or over 10 PIM. You can score when youre in the box.

On a positive, at least thats out of their system. Hopefully.

Clarkson goal scored by:
Rob McFeeters (3) PPG ; assisted by Blight and Faulkner
