Less than 48 hours to go and nobody around here... What's going on? Based on the usual slow season-starting scenerio, a loss to SCSU and a victory over BGSU in the consolation is my realistic prediction. My wishful thinking prediction is a win over SCSU followed by beating Maine in the championship game. What do you think???

i'd have to agree realistically, but theres always hope...if we beat 'em both we'd get a big jump in the national rankings. LGT!

Based on our pattern of slow starts and poor record against western teams, I think a split would be realistic...hoping I'm wrong of course...

I just heard that Maine's coach died last week? Someone want to check that out?

It is true. In fact Shawn Walsh died of a rare form of kidney cancer.

There are several threads on uscollegehockey.com about Walsh's passing. It was at least 2 weeks ago.
Well another disappointing showing against a WCHA team. 5-1 loss. Did like the play of the freshmen Blight, Latulippe, Scuderi and especially Mac Faulkner. Surprised that Randy Jones did not play given his hype. Did not hear most of the first period but we were down 3-0 with the last goal coming right as the buzzer sounded. Outshot 16-2 in the first. Played better the second and third periods but generated most of our shots on the PP. Unfortunately we were 0-6 on the pp. Walsh let in an awful goal on their 5th. I guess he could not be faulted for the others. All and all thought w'ed give them a better game.

Well, it seems like they almost always start out the season this way. It's a shame they couldn't put up better numbers against a team from out west. But, it is only the first real game, and now they'll know for sure where the problems are that need attention. At least they didn't get skunked, right? It could've been worse I reckon. Have a good weekend, everyone. LGT!
