Thats really impressive...so now "we" have a "C" in Calgary...and an "A" in Minnesota...seems to me Todd M ought to be the "C" in Edmonton, eh? :D

That's amazing! I was just saying ,to my wife, that I thought Todd M. has earned an extra letter on his sweater when we were talking about Willie getting the 'A'.

OK, I saw the wallpaper says 2001-2002 in the lower right corner so I checked to see if he was currently alternate captain or what. Here's what I found on www.wild.com...

Brad Bombardir Named Team Captain
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.
October 10, 2002

Minnesota Wild Executive Vice President/General Manager Doug Risebrough and Head Coach Jacques Lemaire announced today that defenseman Brad Bombardir will serve as team captain for the month of October and center’s Jim Dowd and Wes Walz will serve as alternate captains.

Bombardir talks about wearing the 'C'

“It’s great to be recognized as a leader of the team and have the opportunity to wear the “C”, especially after the injury struggles I had last year,” said Bombardir.

The Wild will continue to rotate their captain on a monthly basis this season, based on the player who has shown the greatest leadership qualities. Dowd and Walz are also eligible to be named a monthly captain, in which case a new alternate captain would be named for the month.

Bombardir previously served as team captain in January and February of 2001, becoming the first Wild player to be named a captain in back-to-back months. Walz wore the “C” in December of 2000 and Dowd was captain for October of 2001.

The Minnesota Wild begins the 2003-03 NHL regular season on Friday, October 11 against the Boston Bruins at 7:30 PM at Xcel Energy Center.
