Was any reason given in the article? (the C-O doesn't post articles online)

No, they don't get into it, just a little blurb in the paper saying he had been named director of operations and mentioning his previous stint on the job.

In a September 18 news release from Clarkson University, Scott Smalling was named the Director of Operations at Cheel Arena. It indicated that Scott held that position from 1991 until 1996. However, I know that Scott was the person in charge of Walker Arena when the Golden Knights played there prior to the opening of Cheel. He has a great deal of experience in this area and will undoubtedly do a professional job.

There is still a great deal of concern among the students about the inappropriate and unnecessary closing of the Knight and Day campus bookstore. What a dreadful situation it is for students, without transportation, to obtain the day-to-day necessities. There is a great deal of student dissatisfaction about this issue, and it is guaranteed to create additional aggravation among Golden Knight hockey fans when the season opens next month.

In my opinion, it is a disgraceful example of poor planning to replace a nice bookstore with a bagel shop which closes at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME!
