The below announcement of our nephew's winning the Fullerton Award just make us proud as punch!!!
Steve has contributed to hockey for many years, and we are really happy to see him recognized for his contributions. Although Steve graduated from St. Lawrence, he spent several hours as a young lad watching me play in the interfraternity league at Walker!
Congratulations Steve!!!!!

AHCA Coaches' Awards Announced

Compiled by USCHO Staff

The American Hockey Coaches Association has announced its annual awards for contributions to amateur hockey. This year's recipients include three from U.S. colleges.

Steve Cady of Miami received the Jim Fullerton Award, given to a special contributor to ice hockey — coach, fan, journalist or official — who captures the pure love of the game exemplified by the former Brown head coach. Cady coached at Miami from 1976 to 1985 and was responsible for taking the program from club hockey to the Division I level. Cady currently serves as associate athletic director at Miami.

Bill-

You should be very proud of Steve. I have had the pleasure of meeting steve and his son. Steve is a true fan and supporter of college hockey.

I have a question, I have heard talk that he is going to MSU as Mason's assistant any truth? Also, George Gawdecki (sp) from denver will be named Head Coach. Can you give any inside scope on that.

Congrats
P

I am really happy for Steve. Was lucky enough to be at SLU when he was there. He was not a tremendously gifted hockey player but a great guy.

If memory is correct, Steve is from the North Country. Brasher Falls, for some reason, comes to this fading mind. I probably
need help on this one?

Congratulations to Steve - it's always nice to hear that a fellow teammate is doing well and his efforts are being rewarded.

Hi Brian:
Steve's from Madrid -- his Mom, Dad and 2 siblings still live in Madrid. He was not really a hockey jock at SLU -- a better soccer player as I remember -- but he has really worked hard to get the Miami program up and running and has also served on a couple of the NCAA hockey committees -- tournament and rules, I think. I hope that Miami sees fit to build a new hockey facility to replace Goggin (a dump) before Steve retires, which would really help their program -- recruiting wise. Ohio State's new building has resulted in Miami losing some recruits to OSU.... they will have to upgrade to become competitive once again. Bill
