I have visited a couple of time this year, and thought I was still in Virginia. No snow, no sleet, no cold!
One of my favorite things to do as a child was to go to the outdoor rinks on West Orvis Street or next to the arena in Massena. No possibility of that this year.
Hopefully, it will be cold for the LP tournament. I will be there for that and loving every second of it. Got my reservations yesterday.

Earl,
It's kinda funny. I've been to the North Country twice this season and while there was no sign of snow on the ground when I got there... it snowed pretty good both times when I was leaving to drive home. Just in time for me to have to drive through the storm to get back to Western Mass. Well I enjoy skating on the ponds and outdoor rinks here in the Berkshire Mountains of western Mass and I've had a terrible year for it too! See you in LP:D .
The West Orvis rink is gone, and has been replaced by an outdoor rink on the site of the old junior high school (the one I went to for seventh grade, man I'm old).
We have had the occasional storm, ice rain, and snowfall, nothing horrible though.

I want to move back to Massena someday and I want my son to be able to hit the ice whenever he wants. I remember going and skating on the annex or at West Orvis before school in the morning. Some of my most fond memories and skating and hockey.

What about ALCOA field? Do they still lay down the ice there? Nothing like getting checked into the snow bank!
