According to USCHO, the athletic directors of the ECAC have approved an increase in the regular-season game limit, to 34 from 32. Will this help ECAC hockey at all?
It most certainly will help. The other leagues can no longer use the excuse that the ECAC plays less games in the recruiting wars (at least for the non-Ivy's).

NOW THEY DO IT!!!
Right after the schedules are done. Unless we can find someone who needs games (Findlay??), this won't make a hill of beans difference for 01-02. I wonder who we can schedule??
We could bring back the North Country Inviational for one season, couldn't we?? :) That could give us (and SLU) two more games.

According to both skatingsaints.com and USCHO, the game limit increase takes effect for the 2002-2003 season. With the '01-'02 schedules locked down, changing next season's total number of games played really wouldn't have worked, and would have been a terrific logistical nightmare for all involved.

Speaking of schedules, where is the '01-'02 schedule? Anyone have the official, approved schedule yet?

Game limit increase was long long overdue. Hopefully this is a sign that the league is finally going to get its head screwed on straight.Playoff picture is mixed, 12 teams, 4 too many in my opinion.
