From the pre-game talk with Bob and George
both Ty Mason and Mark Borowiecki were injured last night and are out of the lineup today against Colgate....
Phil Paquet tweaked his ankle last night, but he will see limited action today....
this is a huge game for both teams, as Clarkson can move up in the standings if they win.....
the Clarkson seniors must step up and make a difference......
GOOD LUCK, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS!

Rookie Paul Karpowich is in the Clarkson goal today as the game is underway.
This game will be a definite challenge because Clarkson is missing some of their defensive corps.
Darn it, a hooking penalty is called on Julien Cayer......
Colgate took 37 seconds to score its first goal on the power play.:(

Matt Beca was a question mark about playing today because he was also injured last knight...but he is playing.
Clarkson just took two shots on goal...now that's a positive thing.:)
Clarkson is now on the power play at 5:47 of the first period.
Colgate won the faceoff and drove the puck down the ice.
Bryan Rufenach shot on goal, but Colgate knocked the puck out of the zone.
Matt Beca missed on the glove side high.

Eleven minutes are left in the first period. Clarkson has outshot Colgate 6 ~ 4 so far in this period.
Another Colgate penalty is called for cross checking. Let's light the lamp guys.
It seems as if Colgate is playing a tight defensive game.
LAURI TUOHIMMA SCORES CLARKSON'S FIRST GOAL OF THE GAME, BUT IT IS
UNDER REVIEW because of a high stick.
YES, IT IS A GOAL....YEAH! ASSISTS BY SCOTT FREEMAN AND JULIEN CAYER.
Well, I'll be darned...the Golden Knights shot the puck into the zone and those darn toothpasters scored their second goal....unimaginable.

Colgate's second goal was scored 20 seconds after Clarkson's first goal.
CLARKSON......1....colgate.....2
Goldie Knight

Shea Guthrie has the puck, and he shot it twice, but the puck did not go where Clarkson wanted it to go.
Shots on goal.....colgate....9.....Clarkson 7
It seems the momentum has turned in the toothpaste's favor.
About four minutes left in Period 1.

A shot on Paul Karpowich, who covered up the puck, but there is another penalty called on the Golden Knights. The penalty is on Shea Guthrie.
Another save by Paul Karpowich.....with 54 seconds left on the colgate power play.
Colgate had a good chance to score, but thank goodness they didn't.:)

Chris D'Alvise takes another shot on the toothpaste net.
Adam Bellows takes a shot on the net.
Clarkson is buzzing in the colgate end...even a tie creates some excitement.
Bob Ahlfeld mentioned that Clarkson's second goal may be changed from Chris D'Alvise to Jake Morley.

At 5:52, a slashing call against Dan Tuttle sends the Golden Knight to the penalty box.
Phil Paquet sends the puck down the ice after Paul Karpowich makes a good save.
The toothpaste is skating five seniors on one line now.
It is weird that Clarkson does pretty well at Starr Rink, and the toothpaste does pretty well at Cheel. We will remember last year's series at Cheel in which the toothpaste eliminated Clarkson from the ECAC Tournament.

The toothpaste was assessed a penalty.
Darn it, the trailer scored a goal against Clarkson. Usually, that is a pretty play, but I'm positive this was not nice for Clarkson fans to witness.
The score is now CLARKSON...2...the toothpaste.....3
Goldie Knight
12-06-2008, 05:21 PM
Nick Tremblay had a good opportunity to score....but you know the rest of the story.
7:21 left to play in Period 2, and Clarkson is behind by one goal.
The toothpaste nearly scored another goal.
The Golden Knights have never led in this game. It would be great to change that.

12-06-2008, 05:28 PM
Matt Beca crosses the line...but the puck is taken away.
A toothpaste player is hurt and leaves the ice. Bryan Rufenach is given a penalty, but it is matched with a toothpaste penalty.
1:33 remains in Period 2.
Clarkson gets a power play...its fourth of the game, as someone tripped Scott Freeman.
CHRIS D'ALVISE SCORES CLARKSON'S THIRD GOAL....WITH AN ASSIST GIVEN TO MATT BECA AND PHIL PAQUET.

Period 3 begins with the good news that the Golden Knights are two of four on their power play.:)
Lauri Tuohimaa had a great shot on goal....but...
Paul Karpowich just made two good stops.
Clarkson is pressuring the toothpaste goalie.
If I remember correctly, Period 3 has developed into Clarkson's better effort period.
Louke Oakley took a hard hit against the boards, and he just skated off the ice, appearing to be okay.
Goldie Knight
12-06-2008, 05:55 PM

15:52 remains in Period 3...the score is tied at 3 each

A blocker save prevented Bryan Rufenach's shot from going into the net.
Clarkson power play is over.
Poor Dan Tuttle was called for being offsides, and he disputed the referee's call....obviously to no avail.
Louke Oakley had his stick lifted as he attempted to shoot.
Julien Cayer and Adam Bellows both take shots on goal.
11:08 remains in Period 3.

Jeremiah Crowe takes the puck up ice for Clarkson.
Each team is desperate for a win....but Clarkson has to be MORE desperate...I know their fans are.
The toothpaste wins the faceoff, but Clarkson takes over. Scott Freeman shoots while Julien Cayer gives the goaltender a little push.
Paul Karpowich made a good save, and then a shot goes off the goal post.
Phil Paquet has not played in this third period.

Tim Marks looks for a wrap around.
Dan Tuttle gets the puck and shoots it to Tim Marks who tries to score.
Jake Morley had a good opportunity to score, but he overskated the puck.
About five minutes left in this third period.
Bryan Rufenach brings the puck across the blue line. Tim Marks to Shea Guthrie. Tim Marks shoots again. Dan Tuttle is hit into the boards, and there is not any call made. Those terrible zebras have failed again to call a penalty.
Dan is being rolled over on his back, and Dan does skate off under his own power, with a few words for the incompetent zebras.
Goldie Knight
12-06-2008, 06:15 PM
Matt Beca is looking for the puck from Jake Morley, but it never came. But Jake got the puck and shot it again, just missing.
Julien Cayer shoots again at the toothpaste goalie.
Shea is stuffed by the toothpaste goaltender.
1:44 left to go in the game and Dan Tuttle is called for roughing.....outrageous call, of course.
Goldie Knight

The toothpaste will play the remainder of regulation with the man advantage.
Shea with a three on one, but the period ends with a 3 ~ 3 tie.
We are going to overtime.

My goodness, Paul Karpowich makes another save and is knocked down....no call.
Lauri Tuohimaa and Scott Freeman take the puck over the line.
3:14 to go in overtime.
The Knights have played pretty well today.

Most of the action has been in the Clarkson zone during this overtime.
The toothpaste hit the post on a rebound shot....oh my goodness....scary.
Icing called against the toothpaste.
1:21 left in overtime.
Goldie Knight
12-06-2008, 06:27 PM
Shea Guthrie passes to a Golden Knight who took a good shot.
Chris D'alvise to Jake Morley looking for a wrap around.
Jeremiah gave the puck away....the toothpaste took a shot, but Paul made a great save.
The game ends in a 3 ~ 3 tie......not what we all wanted, but the Golden Knights do earn one point in the ECAC!
