View Full Version : 2 More Recruits
According to the commitment dates given on the recruits site, Clarkson picked up 2 players from the US National Under 18 Development team (one for 2003). Michael Grenzy, a left wing, and Mark Schwamberger, a center. No Stats for these 2, Anyone know anything?
Are the dates accurate, or had these 2 already committed. I didn't remember Schwamberger's name, but Gresny's sounded somewhat familiar. I couldn't remember for sure though

I met Shwamberger (sp?) and his parents when they were at Tech for a recruiting visit in November. The kid is BIG!!!:D Seems like a nice kid too.
His mother seemed impressed with Clarkson ...we had a nice chat. One thing Tech had in its favor is that the family is from Rochester and he had been playing with the USNDT in Michigan. Compared to some of his other options, he's a lot closer to home!
Grezny is a scorer if I remember correctly what I heard last weekend.
These are the first two kids tech has recruited from the USNDT I believe. Kudos to the coaching staff! And note that all the recruits listed are at least 6 '!!!
The stats should ne on the USNDT's site I believe.
You can go to the USNDT home page and get the stats on these kids.

Grezny has played very little for the USNDT and has 1 assist in 13 games. Mark Schwamberger, a center has played in 26 games and has 4 goals and 13 assists. Both of these kids are BIG , 6'3" and 6'2" .

Vic,
Grenzy has played on both the Under-17 and Under-18 squads. He has 4 assists in 21 games on the U-17, besides for what you found on the U-18 team. Despite what Heisenberg has written, he is playing defense on the development team. www.ushr.com reports that he will be playing in the USHL next year before going to Clarkson in 2003.
The latest recruit for next year is Sean Ferguson from Northwood Prep. A forward he is 6'2. Looks like if we can't beat em we decided to join em. We are turning into a clone of Cornell :) . The smallest kids coming in size wise next year are the two defensemen at 6' and 6'1". WOW. Now here is hoping some of these guys can score. Near as I can tell Fergusen has 29 goals and 19 assits in 29 games. Got these on the Northwoods Web site by going into the game recaps (not all are there) and counting them up.

Hey man, Latulippe and Mcfeeters got the scoring covered, well they will need some help but now Tech can finally throw some bodies. I wouldnt worry about offense there is enough in the returing players, and with these enforcers, hopefully tech can dominate most games
Those two can score, but we need a sniper. A guy who is a threat to bury the puck every time he is on the ice and follows through with consistent results. We need at least one guy who will put up some serious numbers up front. We have a bunch of guys who could work the corners and feed him, but our offense that last couple years is way too inconsistent.

McFeeters showed last year that he is a sniper when healthy...and Blight has that potential also!
Next year should be interesting in that regard....BUT
Let start the "sniping" Friday night!!!! :D
LETS GO TECH !!!!!

I agree... someone like Marchant, White, or Cole was you know how every time they touched the puck you held your breath for just a second in anticipation. McFeeters and Latullipe are the back up that the sniper needs. That was what hurt Cole his last year. No one to draw some attention away from him. Hopefully McF or J.J. will prove me wrong and turn out to be a sniper toknight:D .
PS I sat with the Latullipe's at Union and his sister and nephew and they called him J.J. Maybe I shouldn't call him that it's probably a family thing:)

Chuck...JJ sounds okay to me...after all, all us Techers are family!
Speaking of family, you should definitely meet Kevin O's folks...John and Sheila are great people and a lot of fun! Thats the O' Flaherty clan for ya!
:D
John Sullivan a forward is the latest recruit from Billings of the AWHL. He is a first team all-star and the first recruit under 6' Tall :) .
