Looks like we're finally headed in the right direction. Huge 4 point weekend. Seems as if some of these new line combinations are starting to work out too. The Evans, Nagai and Schwan line played particularly well this weekend especially considering the latter two haven't seen much ice time lately. Also great to see that Poapst is back on track. He has 8 points in the last three games now! Congrats to Morris for #300. Lets hope the Knights can keep up the good work in the Capital District next weekend.

As olid win for the Knights at Princeton. It wasn't pretty...but games against Princeton rarely are. They had very few chances and only our nemesis, Parros, really had a good chance...and that was a garbage goal.

The guys played tight D hockey. I recall only one odd man rush against and that was on our PP! I did miss the first ten mins 'cause I was wrapping up the Alumni pre game event so fill me in if I missed something.

Talked to a few of the guys after the game and 2 of the 3 coaches...they appear confident and know they took care of business...played hard and stayed out of the box!

LETS GO TECH...we need another 4 pt weekend next week!

Congrats to Coach Morris on # 300! :D

Congratulations to our determinedl Golden Knights on a job well done this weekend. What a breath of fresh air after the disturbing loss to the SLUzers on Tuesday.

Bob and Josh related the information that the team members each gave Coach Morris a commemorative puck on the occasion of his 300th victory. That was a well-deserved gesture. Did anyone witness this or know more about it?

Listening to the Yale game could have easily brought on cardiac arrest for the faint of heart. But Clarkson did have an opportunity or two at Appleton to tie that game in the waning moments of the game Tuesday. They got the job in New Haven, leaving a stunned group of Yale fans wondering what had happened.

It appears that a rewarding level of confidence is returning to the Golden Knights' hearts. The trip back to Potsdam must have been such a pleasure, remembering that some of those trips in the past were not.

There will certainly be some folks at RPI this weekend not wearing red and not supporting those freakout activities.

OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME!

I was at the game last knight along with Stemmer and I would guess close to 50-60 Clarkson alums. We had a great time at the pregame get together at Triumphs. Got to meet Goeff Brown and talk to him as well as former goalie Jason Curry. And of coarse Princeton would not be Princeton without Ernie Richmond (class of 42) :) . He is a real treat to talk to.

As for after the game, Coach Morris went to the locker room. He must have been wondering where the team was. The guys stayed on the ice and he was brought back out. Each of the team congradulated him (some BIG HUGS :) ) and he was presented with a GAME PUCK by Captain Matt Poapst. It was a great gesture by the kids.

As Stemmer said, a workman like victory. We skated hard and played good defense. Princeton had VERY FEW scoring opportunities. There only goal came on a shot that Walsh stopped and could not control. It was nice to see that the game did not degenerate into a chippy affair on either side as I have seen in the last few years here. And I have to give credit to John Murphy and his crew of officials. It was a well called game. Penalties that were called were deserved. They let the kids play.

Our goals, Lush with a wrist shot the goalie appeared to be screen on and never saw, Evans with a nice pass to Poapst in front, a deak of the goalie and it was in the back of the net, and lastly Evans swatting a loose puck laying at the goalies pads into the goal.

I definetely like Randy Jones. He can really carry the puck well and I thought he played excellent defense. On offense, Jay Latulippe is definitely a great puck handler and to me is the most creative out there when he has the puck. My one concern is on the offense our puck handling and passing was not very crisp. Too many passes to no one or just out of reach of guys and too many times the puck hits the stick and bounces away.

Anyone know anything about Desrocher? I see he did not suit up in either game this weekend?

Congrats to coach Morris on win #300, On to #400 :D
Nice 4 point weekend, it was needed after the last few games. It will be a challenge to try to catch Cornell, but the real priority at this point should be focusing on the Tournament, it is the Knights only way into the NCAA's. It was also nice to see Harvard drop 2. What has happened to Colgate, they could be a team to watch out for come playoff time.

Thank you, Vic, for your more accurate description of what was actually presented to Coach Morris at the conclusion of the game. I must have been too wrapped up in celebrating Clarkson's four-point weekend to pay as close attention as I should have to what Josh and Bob were saying. Congratulations to Mark on his 300th victory!

With Robbie McFetters still out of the lineup, (and that is a catastrophic loss), I believe that Mark is still experimenting with the healthy players he has in the lineup. Perhaps that is why Jean Desrochers was not suited up. Instead Zach Schwan was in the lineup this weekend. He seemed to do well in the big body checks department from what I understood Bob to say.

I honestly believe the Clarkson chemistry is now running on most cylinders with the various lines. The Golden Knights need to keep the momentum running because there still is a great deal of hope for this talented team.

Unfortunately, we learned that there were very few Clarkson tickets available for the RPI game. They went on sale in October in Troy and not much was left when the Clarkson alums expressed a desire to purchase tickets. Clarkson fans will be outnumbered there, but the Golden Knights won't be outplayed.

OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME!

I understand that Jean D was a healthy scratch again. Seems they are getting better effort from the other guys recently. Schwan for example as mentioned!

I hope Jean gets back on track as he showed a lot of talent offensively the second half of last season. And he's a BIG centerman! Would love to see him at 100% by the time we get to cornell, if not sooner of course!

Yup, great post game activity at Baker...too bad the recognition of Mark's #300 did not take place at home but I'm sure he'll be saluted at the next home game.

There will be lots of Tech alumni at RIP. Those alumni who live in the Capital Ditrict always get their tickets early. RIP rarely sells out and their fans are fickle...but they do pack HFH for us...because "we" buy so many tickets!

Plus there will be lots of alumni watching on the satellite broadcast as well! I'll be hosting in NJ for the umpteenth year! Details of all the sites at www.clarksonalumni!

LETS O TECH!!! :D

From my understanding, Jean is 100% healthy...he has just not being given a chance this year...
I think he is a great player with a lot of talent and hope that he gets a chance to be in the lineup again sometime soon.

UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! Let's explain something to you my young (I would take it you are young) friend :) . In a Division I sport no one is "GIVEN A CHANCE". One "EARN'S" their spot in the lineup by hard work in practice and production when out on the ice.

Hey Jean, if you are reading this I know you have the talent and that injury early in the year probably has hindered you. Keep working hard in practice and don't be down. The fans and I am certain the coaching staff want to see you back on the ice. Prove to them you belong and you will be there.

ha ha ha...no i don't believe that I am as young as you think...but thanks for the compliment!

I was simply stating that in order to be 'given a chance' to perform on the ice, one must be able to play a game. Also, I was just stating that I spoke to a couple of the players and they said that Jean plays very hard in practice...it doesn't matter what they think though because it is Morris' final say.

There is more to it than that. And Jean has played in games earlier this season. The results were not up to the level he demonstrated previously. I'm sure he'll be back in the lineup at some point....he is a very talented player.

as Vic said, when he EARNS IT! Perhaps that will occur if and when another player's performance warrants sitting out.

Yes, Morris does have the final say, because HE is the coach. Division I college hockey is not a democracy. Morris doesn't, nor should he, take a survey of the players to see who they think is working hard and should be in the lineup.
When Jean gets his game to where it needs to be, as I am sure he will given his talent, I'm sure Morris will reinsert him into the lineup. Why should he be "given" a chance at the expense of other player who may be working as hard in practice and earning their spot? It is a matter of earning it, waiting for the opportunity, and then making the most of it.
