My family and I go to the RIP/Onion games every year. I was just wondering if any members of the roundtable will be there next weekend. I guess the 'freeks' will be out at RIP so the alumni assoc. didn't get any tickets this year. We almost didn't get any but we settled for obstructed view. Also there is always a guy at those games with a "bedpost" or something with a bell, a green and gold pom-pom and an air horn (I think) attached, he's great! Anyone know who he is?

I'm planning on going to the game at RPI this weekend. I understand it's RPI's 100th year of hockey and that this is the big FREAKOUT weekend, but how can RPI get away with selling all the tickets before the normal selling date?
And how can they get away with not giving the visiting team a certain number of tickets for the team/parents/alumni/band? I think the band got their usual number of tickets, but if the alumni assoc didn't, that doesn't seem right. Isn't there a regulated number that each arena has to set aside for visitors?
If not, I don't see why all arenas don't do this for every game. Why let people from the other team in at all? Just call it some special weekend and sell tickets months in advance to all the fans in the area and your own alumni, and then you won't have to put up with opposing fans.
I have a ticket, so I'm not bitter or anything, I just don't get it.
And I do remember that guy you're referring to, Chuck, he's a great ally across the rink from the band to help get fans going.

I am one of the fortunate few who also has a ticket to the game at RPI. I work in western Mass, about an hour from Albany. Some of my co-workers are recent RPI grads and so they bought the tickets several months ago.

It'll be nice to see the Knights play again, especially after barely ever missing a game while I was in Potsdam. I'll be wearing my Clarkson jersey and being as loud and as obnoxious as possible. Unfortunately, I'll be surrounded by 'friends' wearing red. Oh well, I guess thats just more of a reason to cheer louder for Clarkson.

Karyn, the ECAC requires each home team sell a certain # of tix to the visiting school. The # may vary according to the arena's size...not sure. The # at Princeton is 100 so it may be more for the RIP arena.

The person to talk to at Cheel is Guy Arnold, the Cheel manager. Whatever he had for theis weekend, I'm sure went a long time ago as many Tech alumni go to that game.

You can watch on the satellite broadcast of course! :D

Lemme guess you work for General Dynamics in Pittsfield? I grew up in the Pitts and now live up on the mountain in Savoy. I've been looking for college hockey fans in the Berkshires but haven't had much luck. My wife and I are both die hards. We'll be sitting in Section 12 Row D seats 1,2,3 we'll be loud and obnoxious and my 2 year old son will be chanting " 'ets 'o tech!" or RPI SUCKS (he picked that up from the fans at Cheel:)). Come see us.
