According to the ECHL website, Grenzy is a member of the Texas Wildcatters but has no statistics and is not noted on their roster. Since they are obviously geographically challenged, I was wondering if anyone had heard any information about Michael?

Ahh, thanks for that. Any idea what Michael was doing before the ECHL came calling?
And without looking or caring that much, I wonder what it takes to get suspended from an ECHL team. That's a pretty rough league.

I assume trying to get signed by an AHL club. He had an ATO with Ottawa in early Sept.
While he does have an outside shot at earning an AHL contract based on his size and experience, Binghamton already has substantial depth at defense with recent signings, and it is unlikely Grenzy would be able to put his offensive skills to good use as he would likely not see power play time. However, his physical tools are valuable and Binghamton might see a use for Grenzy as a 5th or 6th defenseman.
Looks like he has been injured before actually playing with Texas
11/3 Delete Michael Grenzy (D), 3 day IR
11/7 Delete Michael Grenzy (D), transfer to 7 day IR

Michael got his second assist in two knights of ECHL play this evening as the Texas Wildcatters split a weekend with the Elmira Jackals.
Grenzy faced former Clarkson teammate Shawn Weller in both games. Weller had a goal on Friday and an assist on Saturday.
I just saw this on the stat sheet....
3rd V S. Weller 5.00 Fighting - Major (47.13) 7:31
3rd H M. Grenzy 5.00 Fighting - Major (47.13) 7:31
Now that's not very Knight-like. :)

You just know that Weller and Grenzy were talking during a 3rd period faceoff and said "We should fight." "Okay." They did it because they could. For fun. And that's why it's funny.

That didn't look like fun for Shawn.

"Kung Fu Fighting" -- glad to see they've got the hockey fight cliches covered down in Texas.
It didn't look to me like too many punches landed, Mike had a couple early, Shawn got one shot in late. Do you think they were making plans to grab a beer after the game in their conversation at the end? :D

Quite frankly, I was mortified to see two former Golden Knights, who played together at Clarkson for three consecutive years, fight. I simply can't imagine this behavior could actually take place between friends, no matter what level of hockey they play at.
That video just reinforces how happy I am that the penalties for fighting at the college level are very stiff. From my perspective, I prefer to see the talent these young men display playing hockey, without the fisticufts. Thank goodness, we have not lost any Golden Knights this season, due to fighting. I give the Clarkson coaches tons of credit for that. Why would anyone want to be disqualified from the next game for fighting?
KNOW NO LIMITS, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

We should all remember a team is no different than any other workplace. Just because you work at the same job doesn't mean you always 'like' everyone there. There are, what, 20 plus guys on any hockey team every season? There are bound to be at least one or two people who rub you the wrong way. Doesn't mean you don't work with them on the ice. So I'm not surprised to see 2 alums of any school fighting, surprised it doesn't come up more actually.
Generally it's either the "heat of the action" or "let's put on a show," not likes or dislikes. Heck, brothers have been known to fight each other on the ice occaisionally - usually with Mom hiding her eyes from the action.

Grenzy signs with the Everblades (http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2008/sep/17/blades-trade-rights-callander-ontario-defenseman/)...probable teammate w/Leggio.
“(Ontario) was really far away,” Grenzy said Wednesday. “Actually Florida was a place I was looking to go in the (ECHL), and I had Malcolm as a coach last year, so that made the decision even easier.”
“We’ve been skating together almost all summer,” Grenzy said of Leggio. “We talked a lot about maybe getting to (play in Florida) together this year. ... He’s a very good goaltender. ... Very quick, and he can make the unbelievable save when he needs to.”
