This because my wife was ****ed at me because I went to the UMass v. BU game without her the other night.
BTW - Guys thanks for fanning the flames when she went in the chat room:( .

ummm, sorry Chuck. She seemed ok with the fact that it was guy's night out. Didn't mean to cause you any trouble.
I don't fit well into any of the poll categories. I'm single, my g/f tolerates my obsession, and has actually gone to a couple Army games with me.
I always offer to take her along - she will go with me from time to time if:
1. There's an excellent restaurant nearby & a good hotel to stay in - when living in CT, she always went with me to Boston & Placid for the ECAC playoffs, but never after they moved to Albany.
2. It's a special occaison, with her relatives there (Icebreaker this year, for example).
3. The Knights make it to a FF (we've only been to 2 of them - Utica & St. Paul).
Other than that, she stays home, but tolerates my attendance - have only had two screwups over the years - NHL allstar game in Hartford during a snowstorm on the very Knight of our 25th anniversary - didn't get home until 2:30 AM - heard about that for a long time after.
Other one was that SLU/BU game in Albany, when I told her we'd (my daughter & I) probably be home about 9:30 or so, but had to watch about 3 and a half games that Knight - SLU went into the 7th period as I remember.

My wife understands my passion for Tech hockey. She actually looks forward to our annual trip to Princeton and to the (former) satellite broadcast. So next week is a doubleheader for us...woohoo!
She also understands my nearly annual trek to Ithaca for the road game at cornell.
The occasional trip to Yale or Albany without her or this year to RPI is no problem. Just as long as I'm not gone more than one night as that would mean she'd have to walk the dog too many times on cold Knights.
But she does draw the line. Best example...when Tech need a FF win over BU in '91 to play the next night in St. Paul for the title, I told her, "I'm on the plane in the morning if we win toKnight."
"You're what??? Forget it."
"I'm there!!!"
Depending on one's viewpoint, it never happened. Hope that situation comes up again this year. ;)
If we wind up in Rochester and/or St. Louis this year - I'm going & she's invited.
I would never forgive myself if we won a national championship and I wasn't there to see it - and all that goes with it! BTW Stemmer, I took my wife to St. Paul for the '91 tournament & stayed at the St. Paul hotel - had a great time except for Amonte, McEachern, Catchuch & company coming in over the blueline on poor Tretowicz. Food was great, city was fun and watching Diane Comely's actions at the championship game was hilarious. I actually caught a puck from that game, which sits on my shelf yet today.
My wife comes with me to Princeton every year and when we make a road trip like 2 years ago to Wisconsin or 4 years ago to Ohio State. The ECAC Tourney is always around her birthday in March and since it is in Albany and her mom lives in Syracuse the joke is I take her to Syracuse to visit family for her birthday and I get to trek over to Albany for the games.

We will see you there Bill.

I got 2 tickets to a Clarkson game this winter and he went along and seemed to have a good time. I think he was surprised at my rabidness. And I wasn't even bad that night, either!

I become glued to the internet during games. Weekends are planned (ideally) around the internet broadcasts.
When I go to visit my parents in Massena, I always make sure it is a home game weekend.
Used to go to the ECAC finals every year in Placid. Don't go now that it is in Albany. Not using Lake Placid is such a waste of an obvious tourist draw.
If Clarkson is in Rochester, I will be there. And no doubt I will travel to anywhere to see Clarkson play Notre Dame if that happens. I love Clarkson and I love Notre Dame. No doubt, the cheering will go for Clarkson however.

My obsession with the internet on Friday and Saturday nights in season is tolerated...just. She just doesn't understand...she hasn't been around hockey very much...I guess that is to be expected as she graduated from Colgate...

Keeping track of hockey during a bye week is definitely baffling to my wife.

Even my wife who is a big college hockey fan thought I was a bit crazy last night when I was watching both the U v. Q game and the Umass v. Maine games on the net. I had the windows both half size next to each other. Alternated between the two with sound, but watched both:p .
