Thanks so much! Are you listening online or something else? If you are watching on tv or something, do you have any opinions on how they are playing so far?

Got the game on the telly.

Tech looked good early. First goal might have been a screen as the two defenders tried to come together to take away the middle of the ice and the SLU forward shot through. Leggio reacted late and the shot wnt five-hole.

Second goal had Leggio moving to his right and he couldn't get over to the post quick enough. Still, it looked to me like the puck had eyes as there wasn't a lot of space.

Tech's goal No. 1 was off a pretty feed out in front. Beca ended up in the net after the puck crossed the line, but it was no doubt a goal.

Gotta say, mid-period reminded me of last year's team. Good to have some momentum going into the break.

I'm watching on TV.

They looked good in the first few min. Then they seemed to struggle a bit after those two SLU goals. I think the CU goal should give them some momentum going into the 2nd.

I've got something to do, so I won't be able to give anymore updates, sorry

SLU's stat tracker says 2-2 after 2, Matt Beca has both goals.

And there you go. 6-2 is the final. They said that ends "six years of frustration for the Knights." Had they lost at St. Lawrence for the past six years?

Last win was in 2000 at SLU, I believe it was 7-2

Clarkson lost FIVE years in a row at Appleton. Don't forget the game they won was in 2000 but it was the 'fall' of the 2000-01 season!

THANK YOU TO OUR GOLDEN BOYS FOR THEIR AWESOME TOTAL TEAM EFFORT IN DEFEATING SLU LAST KNIGHT:

6 :) :) :) :) :) :) TO 2 :( :(

On our way over to Canton, we stopped briefly at Cheel. As we were leaving, we spotted Matt Beca and Tim Marks walking in the snowstorm towards Cheel. I remember thinking that this was our freshmen's first game at Appleton and wondered how they would do. It didn't take too long for Matt Beca to address my concern, and then it didn't take too much longer for Matt to answer that question again. Also, I thought Tim Marks played a great game too. He had a good opportunity on one shot to even score a goal. Well, here are Appleton's honored guests and their assistants:

1. Matt Beca with help from Steve Zalewski.

2. Matt Beca with the assists given to Shawn Weller and Grant Clitsome.

On both of these goals, Steve and Shawn could have taken the shot on goal. Yet, very unselfishly, they passed to Matt who did just what Clarkson fans love to see the Golden Knights do....score and score some more.

The score was tied at 2 apiece at the end of Period 2.

Now, the real entertainment begins as Period 3 opens.

3. Nick Dodge with help from Mike Sullivan.

4. Tyrell Mason, who is credited with scoring his first goal of the season, with an assist from Brodie Rutherglen.

5. Chris D'Alvise with assists given to Brodie Rutherglen and Shea Guthrie.

6. Shawn Weller with an assist from his good friend Steve Zalewski.

Accolades also to David Leggio, who stopped 40 out of 42 shots. Clarkson fans love your stinginess, David.

I think it was during the 1997 ~ 1998 season that the Golden Knights last swept the series against St. Lawrence. The second game of that series was held in January shortly after that horrible, destructive, and devastating ice storm. People in the North Country were without electricity for days. We were given two tickets to that game at Appleton. Erik Cole scored the only goal of the game at either the 58th minute or the 59th minute of the game, and the Golden Knights rode home to Potsdam in glory with a 1 ~ 0 victory.

I can't say enough about how wonderful it feels to be a devout Clarkson Golden Knights' fan this morning. To earn a sweep over St. Lawrence, in a season when SLU has an excellent team, is just thrilling.

Coach Roll wanted the Golden Knights to stay out of the penalty box last knight, and believe it or not, not one single Golden Knight was assessed a penalty during the entire first period.:)

Even though Shea Guthrie was not 100% healthy, his presence on the ice was an important factor. And it was great to see Mike Willemsen back in the lineup again....he executed some great checks. Finally, Philippe Paquet played a sound defensive game. He is a great skater and makes fast work of getting down the ice and back. Hopefully Phil has learned that he is much more valuable on the ice than in that darn penalty box.

OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME...AND THEN SOME.:)

Thanks for the updates Goldie and all... I miss Appleton Arena, but then again, I never saw the Knights lose there in my time in Potsdam, so it was kind of like our home away from home. What a great feeling it must be for our seniors to finally make that short bus ride home amongst the smiles of the Tech faithful. It is a great accomplishment to sweep this rivalry, because despite our ragging on the SLUzers constantly, most of us recognize them as a quality program and team.

I am all smiles today and I've definitely had a little spring in my step. LGT.:D

What I don't miss is the snowstorms.
