At 5:10 Eastern time, there is no audio from the Golden Knights' station.

I'll try the other link to LSSU....thanks.

Joe....bless your heart for providing that link.

It works perfectly, and the audio is very clear.

Thanks, Joe.

LSSU misses a 3x1 the other way

Nick Dodge went in on a breakaway, but he did not score.

LSSU went in on a three on one, but they did not score.

Chris D'Alvise is in the penalty box.

No score after about ten minutes.

LSSU took two shots on their power play....it looks like the CU defense is doing well.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 05:22 PM
Shawn Weller passed to Phil Paquette who had a chance to score....but he didn't.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 05:24 PM
An LSSU player hit the goal post....but the puck knew it shouldn't go in that goal....and it didn't.
It sounds like LSSU is playing very good hockey so far this period....too bad.

Mike Sullivan stole the puck and passed to Shawn Weller, but still no goal for the Golden Knights.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 05:29 PM
Michael Grenzy was hit in the ankle while blocking a shot and went down quickly. The CU trainer is out on the ice with Michael. He was helped to the bench.

LSSU.....too many men on the ice penalty.

SCORE EARLY, SCORE OFTEN, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

CLARKSON SCORES ON THE POWER PLAY. SHAWN WELLER, who was wide open in front of the net, took a pass from Nick Dodge.

CLARKSON LEADS 1 TO NOTHING.

About one minute remaining in Period 1.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 05:53 PM
Just back from a quick bite to eat, and I think Nick Dodge just scored Clarkson's second goal. Did anyone hear who got the assist(s)?

CLARKSON....2.....LSSU....0

LSSU penalty, well yes.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 05:55 PM
Darn it, LSSU scored a short-handed goal.....how depressing. The LSSU player escaped from Grant Clitsome and went in alone to score.

CLARKSON 2.......LSSU.....1

Nick Dodge goes to the penalty box.....oh dear.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:02 PM
Wow, this LSSU announcer just announced that Bob Alhfeld is back on the air with Gary Mikel. There had been a power shortage in northern NYS.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:04 PM
LSSU took a shot and David Leggio stopped it. It seems that LSSU is playing a lot better now since they scored a goal early in Period 2.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:06 PM
Clarkson seems to be icing the puck as often as possible because they don't want the puck in their zone. That sounds like great defensive strategy to me.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:09 PM
The LSSU announcer mentioned that Clarkson should have been called for several penalties which were missed.

David Leggio stopped the puck after an LSSU player stole the puck from Grant Clitsome.

Shots on goal: LSSU 20.....CLARKSON 14

My goodness, LSSU is shooting the puck often.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:12 PM
Nick Dodge took two shots on goal....but, oh well. The announcer stated that Nick had very quick hands.

Max Kolu took a very hard shot on the LSSU goalie....but, oh well.

Goldie Knight

Clarkson hooking penalty.

Two minutes left in Period 2.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:17 PM
Aggressive forechecking by the Golden Knights.....no goals by LSSU on this power play.:)

Period 2 is over.

Goldie Knight

I just checked to see if I could secure the link to Bob Ahlfeld, and I listened to Bob interview a Clarkson employee who discussed an upcoming Clarkson campaign with the hope of earning money for the Clarkson Hockey Program.

Then, the audio disappeared, so Joe, thanks again for providing the link to this very important game.

Period 3 has begun.

PLAY YOUR HEARTS OUT, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:38 PM
Clarkson is exerting good pressure on LSSU.

A Clarkson penalty against Shea Guthrie....oh no.

The puck went under David Leggio after it hit him...but it did not go in.:)

The puck stays in the Clarkson zone, and Steve Zalewski and Nick Dodge stole the puck and went in over the line. There is nothing wrong with a Clarkson goal while LSSU is on the power play, is there?

Oh no....another Clarkson penalty, on Adam Bellows with just six seconds remaining on the first penalty.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:41 PM
Shots on goal....LSSU 21....CLARKSON 20.

Grant Clitsome sends the puck down the ice to the LSSU zone....and Michael Grenzy does the exact same thing.

Mike Sullivan shoots the puck down the ice.

The power plays are over for LSSU.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:43 PM
The LSSU announcer said that his team got very tired during the third period last knight. Let's hope for a repeat performance from LSSU again toknight.

12:25 left to play in Period 3.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:48 PM
Another shot on goal by LSSU, and another save by David Leggio.

LSSU has had about five attempts at shooting on goal.

Darn it, a shot went over the shoulder of David Leggio in the net, and the game is tied at 2; at 10:35 of the third period.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:51 PM
Shawn Weller took a shot on goal.

LET'S GO TECHERS....ON TO VICTORY TOKNIGHT.

Eight minutes left in Period 3.

If the game is tied at the end of regulation time, there will be a five-minute overtime period. If the game is still tied, then there will be a shoot out.

Well, our Golden Knights are going on the power play.

LIGHT THE LANTERN, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:55 PM
Both Shawn and Grant took shots on goal.

David Cayer shoots on goal.

Puck is rolled right in front of the LSSU goalie.

CLARKSON SCORES THE TIE BREAKING GOAL TO LEAD 3 ~ 2.

SHEA GUTHRIE SCORED THE GOAL....WAY TO GO SHEA.

This is Clarkson's third power play goal toknight....all three goals.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 06:59 PM
Two minutes left to play.

Matt Beca goes in alone and is checked.

Faceoff in LSSU zone....thanks to a great play by Chris D'Alvise.

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 07:01 PM
One minute remaining in the game.

Jim Roque calls a time out.

It appears that LSSU will pull its goaltender.

The LSSU announcer praises the play of the Clarkson Golden Knights.

THE CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS HAVE WON THE BADGER TOURNAMENT.

HOW EXCITING IS THAT?

FINAL SCORE CLARKSON 3.....LSSU 2

Goldie Knight
12-30-2006, 07:07 PM
Joe....thank you again for that link to the hockey game toknight. I never would have found it myself.

I am still listening to the LSSU announcer, and I couldn't believe what he just said.

The Clarkson Golden Knights are permitted to have THE TROPHY for five minutes so that a team picture can be taken. Then THE TROPHY is returned to the Badgers or the Kohl Center. That must be a joke.....especially when THE TROPHY would dignify a place of honor at Cheel Arena.

Here are some paraphrased statements from the post-game interview with Gary Mikel and George Roll after the Golden Knights won the Badger Tournament.

This is Clarkson's first tournament win since 1995.

George thought we were very good....toknight was a battle. There was no panic even when LSSU tied the game. It was a total team effort. George was very pleased with the way the team played, especially the defensive corps. Our power play execution was outstanding. The Golden Knights stayed in shape over the Christmas break....the team was very sound defensively....we have to stay at this level.

One of our goals this year was to win this tournament. George was really proud of the Golden Knights toknight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I mentioned in an earlier post, Nick Dodge, with his five-point weekend, was named the star of the game by Bob Ahlfeld and also selected as the Badger Hockey Showdown's Most Outstanding Player. Also named to the All Tournament Team were David Leggio and Tyrell Mason. After all the awards were announced, the Clarkson Golden Knights earned three of six honors on the All Tournament Team.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Congratulations to all our Golden Knights and their coaches for such an outstanding performance in Wisconsin this weekend.

OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME, AND THEN SOME.
