The pre-game interview with Coach Roll complimented the play of the Golden Knights last weekend against Harvard and Dartmouth. George said we would have to play five on five hockey and stay away from the hooks and the holds; we will be aggressive and stay out of the penalty box.

BEAT THE BOBCATS TOKNIGHT!

It is 7 PM, and the game is underway. Bob Alhfeld and Josh Bartell are doing the radio broadcast. They discussed the great increase in student attendance....the students have been just great.

It sounds as if the "Q" is the real deal....just missing a shot on goal early on.

Oh my, at 1:39 of the first period, the "Q" scored....awful, just awful.:mad:

DarbCU

no shots CU yet, Q is looking good in the first 3 minutes

Goldie Knight

Once again, the "Q" scores.

The score is now Clarkson zero and the "Q" 2 :mad: :mad:

Grant Clitsome goes to the sin bin.

I think Josh remarked that the "Q" has several transfers from UNH who are eligible to play this season. They only have one senior, Reid Cashman.

Good penalty kill for the Golden Knights. The Golden Knights have come out slowly.

Now the "Q" sends one of their own to the sin bin.

LET'S GO TECHERS, POUR ON THE POWER.

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 08:13 PM
DAVID CAYER FROM MATT BECA AND STEVE ZALEWSKI.............

CLARKSON SCORES ITS FIRST GOAL ON THE POWER PLAY.

Now David Cayer is sent to the penalty box.

CLARKSON 1......the Q....2

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 08:16 PM
Clarkson did a great job defensively on the Q power play.

Now the "Q" is penalized....only two minutes though.

LET'S GO TECHERS......IT'S KNIGHT TIME.

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 08:20 PM
Steve Zalewski had a great opportunity, but there was not enough traffic in front of the "Q" net minder for him to score.

The CU power play is over....too bad we couldn't score.

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 08:23 PM
Penalty for cross checking against Phil Paquette. George is talking with referee Hansen.

The "Q's third power play.

LET'S GO CLARKSON....SCORE WITH FOUR.

These announcers for the video broadcast are annoying me! "I have a feeling they are going to score right off the faceoff" Instead, they get a penalty

3-1 Quinnipiac

DarbCU

Q has a 2 on 1 break CU stops it, heads up the ice the other way with a 2 on 1 , Tim Marks passes it and deflects off Guthrie into the goal!

Q-3 CU-2

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 08:56 PM
Well, I had a little difficulty with the feed.

When I finally found where I wanted to be, I just heard that Shea Guthrie scored Clarkson's second goal at 2:17 of the second period, with assists by Tim Marks and Chris D'Alvise.

Unfortunately, the little Qs scored their third goal just before that.

Thanks for your posts, DarbCU.

SCORE....CLARKSON 2.....the Qs....3

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:00 PM
Steve Zalewski had another great shot that just missed. Icing is called against Clarkson. Phil Paquette had a great check raising the Q player right up off the ice....way to go Phil.

Another 2 on 1 by the Qs....then David made a fabulous save.

There is no question that this Q team is for real.

DarbCU

Goldie, are you watching or listening?

DarbCU

Ha ha, "We want Murphy!"

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:05 PM
A tripping call on Tyrell Mason outrages the CU bench....referee Hansen is aggravating the Clarkson coaches.

Another Bobcat power play.....way too many for them already.

The CU fans are chanting.....we want (referee) Murphy...what a joke.:)

Power play is over.

I am listening to the radio broadcast over the internet in Odessa, FL, where we are visiting our daughter and her family for several weeks. This is only the fifth home game we have missed since Cheel Arena opened in 1991. I love the job Josh and Bob do on the radio broadcast.

Clarkson goes on the power play.

Tim Marks nearly scored.

Goldie Knight

Seven minutes remain in Period 2.

David Cayer had another great opportunity, but he was only 8 inches away from the Q's goaltender.

CU power play is over.

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:14 PM
Darn it, the Q player Marshall walked in and scored. No chance for David Leggio......poor CU defensive play.

Score.....CLARKSON 2...... the Q 4

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:20 PM
The Q player goes to the penalty box for holding.

Man, do we ever need a goal....or two.

Good feeds and good shots for Clarkson.

Both Steve and Matt come close to scoring.

The Q clear the puck down the ice.

Shots on goal...the Q...25....CLARKSON 14.....shameful

Period 2 ends, with the Golden Knights behind 4 ~ 2

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:33 PM
The third period will be a test of the true grit these Golden Knights possess. Behind by two goals and facing a red-hot seasoned goalie, Clarkson will have to be the best they can be in order to win this game.

CLARKSON.....SCORE EARLY.....SCORE OFTEN.

SLU leads Princeton 3 ~ 2 after two periods.

Drew
11-10-2006, 09:37 PM
We need some offensive pressure, no penalties and some PP chances....14 shots are pathetic.

Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:39 PM
Period 3 is underway.

The penalty goes to the Q for hooking.

LET'S GO TECHERS.......POUR ON YOUR POWER.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STEVE ZALEWSKI SCORES FROM SHEA GUTHRIE.....CLARKSON'S THIRD GOAL.
Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:43 PM
Clarkson needs to keep the offensive pressure on continually this period...according to Josh....and Drew.
NEVER GIVE UP, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.
Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:46 PM
14:10 left in Period 3.
Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:49 PM
Nick Dodge has been hit over and over by the Q's Doherty....nasty little Q.
Steve feeds Shawn Weller, who blasts the puck towards the Q goaltender....no goal though.
DarbCU
11-10-2006, 09:53 PM
crap, stupid penalty shop
Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:54 PM
Leggio makes a great save on the Q's player Brian Leech.
That fool Hansen has called a penalty shot against Clarkson.
Wouldn't you know that critter scored....another goal for referee scott hansen.
Clarkson is now down two goals....5 ~ 3.
Steve Zalewski is in the CU penalty box.....Steve gets a misconduct call for saying a few too many words apparently.
Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 09:57 PM
Phil Paquette hits a Q player from behind. Phil will receive a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
DarbCU
11-10-2006, 09:58 PM
Now Paquet is gone, making it 3 techers with game misconducts tonight
Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 10:03 PM
Clarkson has never led in this game. The Q scored two goals in the first two minutes nine seconds of the game.
Things have gone downhill ever since then.
HOWEVER........
MATT CURLEY SCORES A SHORTHANDED GOAL FROM SHAWN WELLER.
SCORE.....CLARKSON 4.....the Q......5
NEVER GIVE UP, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Goldie Knight
CRAP! ENG for Q, game is over 6-4
Clarkson showed some life at the end and gave a good effort. Nice try with 5 forwards and 1 defender on the empty net
Goldie Knight
11-10-2006, 10:12 PM
The Q scores an empty net goal.
FINAL SCORE: CLARKSON.....4 THE Q.....6
Depressing and discouraging....the final score.
The Golden Knights just couldn't sustain the defensive pressure.
Its hard to sustain pressure when you're sitting in the box. Over 67 minutes of penalties for the knights toknight. Q has way too much offensive talent to spot over an entire game time of penalties. D'alvise off after the game for spearing too. So how many guys are ineligible for tomorrow? A real lack of discipline. This is not Hansen's fault. He set the tone early, but we had already spotted them two goals. We got out worked toknight. Looks like our guys are reading way too many headlines.
According to collegehockeystats, only D'Alvise will be gone tomorrow.
I think the game misconduct penalty is punishment for that one game only. It is a five-minute power play punishment, and the recipient is all through playing for that one game.
Subsequently, the game disqualification penalty means the person is NOT permitted to play the next game, as well as being prevented from playing the rest of that particular game in which the infraction was committed.
You are both correct. I just wasn't sure who got which when I wrote that. This is making me long for the disciplined days of Matt Nickerson. I mean the Matt that showed self discipline at Lynah and was a big reason we won that 2 out of 3 in the playoffs. Last night's display was really a disappointment to us the fans, but I'm sure to the players. Today will tell what kind of backbone our guys have. This is 3 games now at home that have not brought out the best of CCT hockey. We clearly have the talent...now, do we have the fortitude? The jury is still out on that.
