It looks like Matt Curley is going to the penalty box.

Let's go Clarkson....score with four!

Goldie Knight

Nick Dodge was going in alone and was dragged down on a breakaway.

Clarkson goes on the power play.

Some good opportunities, but to no avail.

Period 2 is underway.....

Shawn Weller and Steve Zalewski had a good chance.....but

Tyrell Mason goes to the penalty box for interference.....too bad.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 08:52 PM
Shawn Weller nearly stole the puck....but he missed.

Clarkson looked sharp on this penalty kill.....great news.

Oh my, Harvard just scored in the remaining seconds of the power play. David Leggio had no chance on this turn-around goal.

Clarkson 1......harvard 2

Goldie Knight

David Leggio made a brilliant save on Kevin Du.

I hear that great CU Pep Band, which apparently is playing without any competition tonight.

Clarkson is going on the power play.

POUR ON THE POWER, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

Goldie Knight

Power play is over for Clarkson.

Clarkson is zero for three on their power play attempts toknight.

About ten minutes remain in Period 2.

Is anyone else having a problem with the Clarkson feed? I seem to have lost the audio portion of the broadcast. I guess that would be okay as long as harvard does not score another goal all knight.:)

Mine's ok...

end of 2 score: 3-2 cct

Not listening to the feed, just waiting for your posts!

Thanks, Chuck, I must have been disconnected for a few minutes....perhaps by some unhappy harvard fans :), but all is well now.

Talking with Shawn Weller last weekend at Cheel, he mentioned just how important it was that the Golden Knights play great hockey this weekend in New England. What an example Shawn set by scoring his awesome goal to tie the game at two each. And then, how about Nick Dodge....sheer talent and determination guided him to score that shorthanded goal to put Clarkson ahead 3 ~ 2.

We have been in Florida for a few days, and I must have missed hearing anything about Clarkson's assistant captain, Matt Curley. Is Matt the only assistant captain this season?

I just heard about Matt in the pregame with George and Bob. Didn't really hear all of it. I think George said that right now it's just Matt. There may be another later in the year if someone steps up as a leader.

Thanks for the updates Goldie. Gotta take the dog out now but I'll be back for the third period.

Is it possible that there is no score between Dartmouth and SLU after two periods?

And how about Quinnipiac leading Union 6 to 0 after two periods in Schenectady?

Period 3 will be beginning shortly.

CLARKSON, SCORE EARLY, SCORE OFTEN

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:33 PM
Rich....you and the dog. Are you planning to bring him to Cheel Arena at Thanksgiving time?

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:34 PM
Chuck...thanks for the update about Matt Curley being named as the Assistant Captain. This is the latest I can ever remember a leader being named to that position.

Goldie Knight

MIKE SULLIVAN SCORES FROM THE TOP OF THE CREASE.....HIS FIRST OF THE SEASON....GOOD FOR YOU, MIKE.

CLARKSON 4......harvard 2

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:38 PM
Well, how about that.....Harvard is sending a player to the penalty box....how nice of them to do that for us. :)

CLARKSON, SCORE EARLY, SCORE OFTEN.

Goldie Knight

David Leggio is right on his game toknight. Actually, he has given Harvard enough goals already, hasn't he? :)

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:41 PM
The Golden Knights have scored three straight goals.

13:54 remains in Period 3.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:45 PM
Harvard is exerting some pressure on the Knights. I know Teddy Donato is very annoyed that his team is behind by two goals.....too bad ;)

David Leggio just made a terrific save.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:47 PM
Two players, one from each team, are sent to the sin bin.

I'm sorry I didn't hear the names.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:49 PM
Now Harvard is down a man for hitting Matt Curley.

How awful...Mike Sullivan is called for interference. Three on three for a little while.

Goldie Knight

CHRIS D'ALVISE FROM SHEA GUTHRIE AT 10:09 OF PERIOD THREE

7:22 left in Period 3. And guess what? Harvard committed another mistake and one of the crimson is going to the penalty box.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 09:58 PM
CLARKSON goes back on the power play....much to their fans' delight.

Power play is over.

5:22 remains in Period 3.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 10:00 PM
Brodie Rutherglen is having his best game of the season toknight....and what an excellent time to do that. Brodie scored Clarkson's first goal and his first goal of the season.

3:21 remains in Period 3.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 10:02 PM
David Leggio makes two good saves.

2:19 left in the game. A Golden Knight (Matt Curley) is sent to the penalty box.

Harvard has pulled its goaltender.

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 10:06 PM
Harvard is playing with a six on four advantage.

Under a minute to play in the game.

Phil Paquette blocks a shot, and then he is called for a penalty with 25 seconds left.

Harvard now has a six on three power play as their goaltender has been pulled. Harvard must wonder if they can ever score again on David Leggio.

Time out Clarkson

LET'S GO TECHERS....ON TO YOUR FIRST ECAC VICTORY THIS SEASON.:)

Goldie Knight
11-03-2006, 10:08 PM
WE WON. :) :) :)

OUR FIRST ECAC ROAD VICTORY SINCE LAST NOVEMBER.....WOW, WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT FOR OUR GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

FINAL SCORE:

CLARKSON 5..... harvard...only 2

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT?

Rich....you and the dog. Are you planning to bring him to Cheel Arena at Thanksgiving time?

Ann, knowing that you and David are at least as big dog-lovers as we are, I'll let you get away with that one. ;)

And yes, Cody will be making the North Country trip with us. Scott Smalling pointed us to a kennel in Canton for the last trip.

He won't make it inside Cheel although he has walked past it a couple of times. He's been to Tech so many times, I think he should have earned a degree by now. But his skating needs some work. :)

Perhaps Scott can use him as a security dog when some of the more unruly visiting fans come to Cheel. He is a (friendly) Doberman, after all!

Goldie Knight

Yes, Rich, your family and mine are definitely dog lovers. I was, in fact, just teasing you with that comment. We will be back at Cheel for the Thanksgiving games, so it will be great to actually see you in person again.

And, you know, Scott would love to have some added protection around the arena. Once in a while, some folks do need some extra surveillance.:)
