Over the past week, several people have told me that when registering for the chat, they either don't get the confirmation email at all, or get a cryptic "HACK" message when setting their password after confirming their account. I haven't yet been able to figure out what's causing this, and because of prior commitments, I'm not going to be able to repair or replace it until at least tomorrow (Sunday).
For that reason, automatic (online) registration for the chat is CLOSED until further notice. Of course, the chat room itself will remain open. All this means is that you'll need to email me for a chat account.
If you want to register for chat, OR have registered but not received a confirmation email, please send me (sfc -AT- goldenknightshockey.com) an email with your desired nickname and password.
For those of you who have reported issues to me (privately or here), I've sent you emails with new passwords. These have to be reset because of a flaw in the system's present design.
It's my understanding that a completely new version of the PCPIN chat software is in the works, but I'm already looking at alternate software. The current version has some very serious administrative shortcomings and the error handling (which basically consists of the 'HACK' message), to put it mildly, SUCKS.
Please bear with me as I try to shake the bugs out of this thing. Thanks for your understanding and patience -- I know this is inconvenient.
