I just listened to the post-game show during which Bob Alhfeld interviewed Coach George Roll. Bob talked about the third period and some of its crazy bounces. George said the guys did a pretty good job of bouncing back in the third period. (Providence had scored a goal on a power play near the end of the second period.) "We did a great job defensively in the third period...there were a lot of outside shots. There was a solid effort from our guys. No one had the night off. The Providence coach said our forwards were dynamic. They came to work; there were no passengers. Everyone played with a lot of determination. This was an important game. We needed a solid effort; it was a convincing win. We earned this victory."
In conclusion, Michael Grenzy, with three assists, was chosen the Golden Knight of the Knight. This 3 ~ 0 record is Clarkson's best beginning since the 1990 ~ 1991 season.
KNOW NO LIMITS, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

Actually, when I was going through statistics earlier today, I thought I noticed a 3-0 start in 1999-2000 or 1998-1999. I know the first 4-0 start I found was 1990-1991.

DaredevilCU,
When I am attempting to record a lot of verbatim statements, I quickly write my notes in shorthand, as I could never trust my memory to remember exactly what was said. Both Bob and Gary Mikel were doing the radio broadcast last knight, so I would assume their statements are accurate. It was on the radio where I heard the comment made about our best start in many years. However, I will definitely admit that I could have made a mistake.
Does anyone have a media guide to verify this statistic?
OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME.

"Clarkson, off to its best start since the 1990-91 campaign with a 3-0 record"
96-97 started with 3 wins, but one was an exhibition against the Polish National team
in 90-91 they started with 6 wins

Thanks, Chuck. My guess is that exhibition games don't count for anything in regard to a team's record or placement in the standings. Their intrinsic value relates to the experience of playing hockey. Maybe such games (wins or losses) are simply discounted in the scheme of things.
It is my hope that Clarkson will defeat the U-Mass Minutemen at Amherst toknight so we can add yet another WIN to our already amazing record this season. It will be interesting to see how SLU does against Providence College toknight.
OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME, AND THEN SOME

exhibition games by definition mean PRACTICE. do you see NFL teams, for example, including their pre-season games in the current standings?
They are no different than the Yankees playing a spring training game in Tampa
