I haven't found any official announcements yet but I found a Clarkson Athletics link with the 2006-2007 ECAC Preseason Poll.

It shows that the coaches recognize talent and the job that their brethren at Clarkson are doing.

As a part-time media person myself, the media poll shows, "what does the media know?" :D

Bottem line is that polls are nice for fans butit's what gets done on the ice that counts. A poll has never won a game for any team yet.

Mike...you did a tremendous job locating all those links for us...thank you.

Rich....I was thinking about the authenticity and validity of the coaches' poll in contrast to the media's poll. It seems logical that the coaches poll would be the more accurate of the two. I believe that because of the coaches' everyday involvement directly with college hockey, their focus is heavily concentrated in that direction. It follows, then, in my opinion, that the coaches' poll would have more credence than the media's poll. I guess my point is that the media probably does not solely concentrate on collegiate hockey....but maybe that's inaccurate thinking on my part.

Nevertheless, I had predicted in earlier posts that the Clarkson Golden Knights will be in the top four ECAC teams on Sunday morning, February 25. After reading Mike's links, I am even more encouraged about that statement.

I am debating who will receive the nod for the TOP Clarkson goaltending position this coming season. Comments anyone?

KNOW NO LIMITS, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS!

Leggio. No question. After seeing his performance at Lynah during the playoffs last year, and being lucky enough to catch what I think was a captain's practice (looked like 4v4 half-ice for whoever wanted to show up) with Leggio in goal, he was at the top of his game at the end of last season and looked very solid in the practice that I saw. Nulty will see some time in NC games, I expect, and will probably get the nod for whatever the final home game is, but unless Matt Smith is absolutely incredible, Leggio will be first string.

Anyone look back at past years to see if either the coaches or media ever got it right or were consistently close? Would be interesting to see. Additionally, Inside Hockey has their ECACHL preseason report up this morning. Tech is picked #3. Nick Dodge is picked as the best player in the league.
