First, I would like to thank Rich for emailing me yesterday the link concerning Mark's new job with the Manchester, (NH) Monarchs. Rich, I followed through this to locate the announcement confirming Mark's selection. Today, I discovered the following news. Because I have not learned exactly how to set up a link, I would like to provide the information here for those who would like to peruse the article.

www.UnionLeader.com

click sports

click Monarchs on the left-hand side of the page

(that will give you the newspaper coverage of Mark's hiring)

return to the sports section

on the right-hand side of the page, click Minor Leagues, then Manchester Monarchs, and finally click under the picture of Mark and GM Ron Hextall, on press conference.

I just listened to the audio portion of the thirty-minute press conference, which was very informative. The former Golden Knights whom Mark had coached, who are currently playing in the NHL, were individually mentioned. Also, there were approximately twenty-five candidates for the position of head coach for the Manchester Monarchs, from which Ron Hextall selected five. It was nice to learn that Mark Morris was the candidate selected for the position.

I'm sure many of us wish Mark Morris the very best of luck in his future with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League. Being originally from New Hampshire, I am particularly pleased that Mark was given this job. I expect Mark and his family will enjoy living in one of New Hampshire's largest cities.

Joe beat you on the announcement by a day Goldie. Check the Where are they now Forum for the thread :D .

Congrats to Mark. I'm sure all of us wish him well and we know he will do a great job in his new position.

I Believe Mark will do well in Manchester. Weall know he's a terrific coach and should fit in well in the AHL.

Good luck Mark!

Oh dear, Vic, we just recently returned from hot and humid Florida, and I never checked the "Where Are They Now" section of the Roundtable. So, I would like to extend my apologies to you, Vic, and to Joe, for my mistake. I would not have started this thread had I noticed Joe already had begun one.

Nevertheless, with all his experience and expertise in hockey, I do believe Mark will do a fine job for the Monarchs. I think I read that Mark signed a multi-year contract with this team.

No apologies needed. I would bet most of us do not look at the Where Are They Now Section that often. I know I do not. I almost started a Morris Thread myself when out of the corner of my eye when I logged into the Roundtable I saw Joe had just did it.

Good for Mark!! I wish him luck, just not too much luck (the Hartford Wolfpack are in the same league). Very nice career recovery on his part.
