Fina?

I've had a couple of people tell me that a doctor working in the local emergency room (Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield, Mass.) has told them that he played hockey for Clarkson in the late '70's. His last name in Fina (sp?). I've looked on CU's website and in this year's media guide but can find no mention of him. Does anyone remember the name? I was just curious to see his stats or to find out more about his play.

I knew a Terrence Fina that might fit that description. I believe he played JV hockey and may have been called up for a game or two during his playing years.

As originally posted, no one named Fina played in a Varsity game according to the book. JV hockey is a different story...there are a load of guys who played Freshman or JV hockey...

Does the book list the name of every player who had any playing time? Or would they leave out the more obscure players who maybe only had an occasional appearance on the varsity team?

I don't think a guy who played "JV" and never appeared on the varsity roster and never played in a varsity game should be telling my sis that he played for Clarkson when he sees her CCM-CLARKSON HOCKEY cap!

The intention is to list every player who saw any Varsity action! It may not be perfect but I dont imagine th e recordss from '79 would be wrong.

Sounds like what the guy said (if he played Tech JV hockey) is true...but perhaps misleading.

I could be wrong, however I think this same "Fina" guy goes by the nickname "TJ" and was an assistant trainer during the '84/'85 timeframe. He may be on a team photo if you wish to investigate further.

If anyone has this team photo I'd like to see it. Maybe it could be scanned and emailed to me.
Maybe I ought to just break a leg or something and go to the emergency room myself and talk to him to get the lowdown. But I've broken my leg before and that's no fun!!

If indeed this guy was a trainer, thats pretty low to be telling people he "played" at Clarkson.

Actually, I'm headed up this weekend! I will look at the walls to see. Good idea. I'll also try to talk to this guy. When I find an explaination I'll post it just in case anyone cares.
