Craig Conroy had 1G, 1A for Calgary in their win in St. Louis over his old team. He now has 9 points in 9 games and is second on his team in scoring. He may have moved up to their #1 center with Marc Savard out with an injury.

Check out the pic of Craig scoring at www.nhl.com!

Way to go Craig!

Yeah, I happened upon the article yesterday. I printed it out and highlighted it and hung it up on the wall so everyone in the lab can see it. Way to go Craig!!!!! Keep up the hard work! LGT!

Craig is currently tied for 27th in scoring with 10 pts in 11 games. Taht may not seem impressive but I bet its the highestany Techer has been since "Tails'" big years in LA!

Keep up the good work Craig!

Another great game for Craiger last night (2 pts), including the game winner! And Chris Clark added an insurance goal...his first of the year!

WAY TO GO YOU TECHERS!!!!

Another 3 point nite for Craig, incl a PP goal! The kid is on a roll! :D

Good job Craig! I listened to the Oilers-Bruins game last night, and the Bruins announcers had a lot of good things to say about Todd Marchant. He took a bad fall in the 1st, and then they launched into a whole list of things about how nice he is, he's a great player, etc. It was cool to hear. Unfortunately, the Oilers lost :(

Craig is now tied for 11th in the league in scoring! Must be the air in Calgary eh?:)

2G, 1A for Craog tonite in a Turkey Day 4-4 tie with Whitey's Qttawa Sens...no points for Todd. I wonder if these former teammates )for one season at Tech) faced off against each other!

:D

Too more assists for Craig tonite...write him in on the All Star ballot folks! :D

petal

Actually, I wrote Craig in as soon as I saw the ballots were out. I was torn between him or Whitey. But, I went with Craig.

# 10 for Craig tonight! Will be interesting how the lines look going forward now that Marc Savard, supposedly their # 1 center, is back from injury....

I noticed in the press notes before the Ranger game tonite that Mike York of the Rangers was tied for the lead in scoring among USA born players....with you guessed it...Craig!

York got two pts tonite and Calgary got blanked so Craiger has some work to do!

By the way, if Herb Brooks doesnt select Craig for the Olympics, he's NUTS!!! :D

Stemmer
12-23-2001, 02:57 AM
Well, I guess Brooks is ready for the funny farm...he chose York, Rolston, and Deadmarsh over Craig! York, okay...he's speedy and gifted offensively.

But Craig has the best all around game of any of these guys!

Be sure to go to www.nhl.com and write him in for the NHL
All star game!

Here's a nice spotlight about Craig Conroy on cnnsi.com and his performance in the game last night:

Craig scored his career-high 15th as the Flames lone goal in a 5-1 loss to the Devils. Congrats Craiger!!!

Also, I see that Chris Clark had a fight with that goon Commodore. We remember him as the jerk that nearly decapitated Erik Cole a couple of years ago at Cheel in a game against UND. HAve to watch the next NJ-Carolina game to see what happens! Remember, hockey players have very loooooooong memories!

I remember that Commodore guy. He was the lead thug for NoDak. I'm sorry to see he's not serving up fries somewhere.....Let's hope he gets a bit of his own medicine and gets humbled.

Craig and Chris Clark are the only two Americans on the Flames roster...

Check here for their tactics on facing teammates during today's practice after Team Canada's Golden performance yesterday.

Craig is in town tommorow nite with the Flames. I dont ever remember a game he has played here without scoring a goal! His first came in his 2nd game in the NHL, with Montreal. I was there and had a great view of it...wish I'd taken a photo.

Scored within the first two minutes of the game...yet his bio always says his first goal came later...hmmm.

Well, I hope he gets the hat trick...and that the Rangers win! :D

A great game for Craiger last night...Calgary is really allowing him to demonstrate his offensive skills!

http://www.bergenrecord.com/page.php?level_3_id=132&page=2700302

Caught up with him after the game. He loves playing at the Garden...can we arrange a trade? :D And he has had great success at shooting at Mike Richter! Good mentions of Clarkson "College" and Potsdam in references to Craig and Chris Clark, who also scored last night!

Check the New York Times today for a photo of Craig airborne in the first period!

Its no coincidence that Iginla is having a great season...with Craig as his center! :D

I just did something I never thought I'd do. Dropped major cashola for great seat for Bruins-Calgary game Saturday night. I'll be in section 6, row 6. Will be the dork holding up giant green Clarkson jersey behind the Calgary net. Am very excited and hope Craig and Chris get a kick out of seeing the green & gold. Unfortunately I will be sitting alone that night. Couldn't get friends to go as they just bought lots of Sox tickets. The game will be on UPN38 for you New Englanders :)
Heh maybe I'll get on tv.... :D Oh, the things one does in the name of Clarkson hockey.......
LGT!

 WHAT?? You're not listening to the SLU game??

No really that'll be fun I hope you get on TV with your Jersey... wonder if the announcers will get it?

PS - Don't you just love being a FANatic!?

petal
03-06-2002, 05:17 PM
Yeah, I know I know....I won't be listening to the game, and I won't be at Cheel or in Canton but I will be there in spirit. More likely biting my nails and going nuts wondering what the score is up there! I also got tickets to 6 Sox games. I'm sure that number will go up. It doesn't help working down the street from Fenway, you know? Will try to get on tv. If I see myself on the tape, I'll let ya know. I'm not brave enough to make/hold up a clever sign or anything so it'll just be the jersey because the guys will know it. Hoping I don't get beat up or thrown out for cheering for Calgary hehehe. No huddling amongst other Tech fans for this one...

petal, get there a little early and hook up with the press gang -- someone will have the ECAC playoff scores as they come in -- maybe you could even get'em announced over the Fleet Ctr. PA....

Stemmer
03-07-2002, 01:47 AM
Petal, go one better than that...call the Flames ofc in Calgary. I can post the # here tomorrow if you dont want to look it up. Tell them you would like to hook up with Craiger or Chris after the game and they'll probably give you the # of the guy who travels with them and arranges the security pass...or "the list"...however they do it at the Fleet Center. If so, you'll have to ask security where to go after the game or pick up a pass on the way in.

That way you can meet them after the game outside the locker room or wherever they designate there. I've been catching up with Craig for several years now at MSG and I see him during the summer usually, and even if you don't know him well, just tell the guy you talk to you're a Techer and he'll put you on the list after he runs it past Craig. Craig is such a good guy I bet he'd be happy to see any alums after the game. The guys usually have a few minutes to hang out before they get on the bus. Calgary is on a wicked 9 game road trip now that started in New York on Monday!

The jersey thing will be cool, and they will definitely see you! :D

Oh, and watch how beautifully Craig sets up his wingers...esp. Iginla! :D

Both Rogers Sportsnet announcers agreed that Craig should've been on the US olympic team.... Unfortunately the discussion was cut short by Clarkie's fight with Richardson at the end of the game..... I hope both Calgary and Edmonton make the playoffs, but don't have a lot of hope......

Craig does it again!

Too bad he's toiling in Calgary...NHL Siberia!

He might be the most underrated player in the league this year and the Flames may miss the playoffs!

Rich,
I taped the B's - Flames game the other night (the one petal was at) and I was watching yesterday and the Idiot bruins announcer was praising Iginla and he comes up with the statement that his play is even more amazing in light of the fact that he has no "supporting cast" ! Man that frosted me. And now even more... how is tenth in the league in scoring so easily disregarded:confused: ?

Just curious who that broadcaster was...

I read two interviews with Iginla awhile ago and he gave great credit to Craig for his play and for helping Jerome to the year he is having.

I called WFAN...sports radio in NYC... last week on the way home after the Flames-Rangers game to put in a plug for Craig...and all the host wanted to do is talk about how no one had ever heard of Iginla!

Whatever, we know what a solid player Craig is...I just hope that his Calgary team makes the playoffs...or that he gets traded to the Rangers! :D

4 point knight for Craiger. 2 goals and 2 helpers in a 6-1 win over Columbus. What a season.

Indeed...and he was the first star of the game as well! Too bad Calgary will likely not make the playoffs. Think of this...back in December, Calgary and the Rangers were both in first place and leading their divisions...

Craiger's point total will be the highest in a season for a Techer since Dave Taylor's big years. And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

Way to go Craig!

Check out who's in this picture ;) it's not just Iggy!

Congrats to Craig on his 2 helpers last night. It brings him up to a total of 26 goals, 48 assists for 74 points. He is on fire! It's a shame he doesn't get the recognition the other guys(many of whom he is ahead of in the points standings) get. I wonder how many goals he has set Iggy up for this season.

I had that stat a few weeks ago Petal but lost it. Craig is very unselfish...he tried to set up Iggy for his 40th several times when thet were here in NY, even when Craig had an empty net to shoot at near the end of the game.

A career year for Craig. Barry Melrose praised him last week...too bad he's not in the playoffs to show everybody what he can do!

Thanks for the link...great story!
