View Full Version : CLARKSON VERSUS THE QUINNIPIACS
Goldie Knight

Well, it's almost game time, and Gary and Bob are discussing the new rink for the Quinnipiac team. It will be ready for occupancy in January of 2007.
Apparently, the rink where the game will take place toknight is not up to NCAA Division I standards.
LET'S GO TECHERS.......NOTHING BUT A VICTORY IS OKAY.:)

Feed is up, but a little scratchy, for those on the web.
Roll - Youre not going to score 4 or 5 goals a game. D wasnt good in their own end at SLU.
Lines are being shaken up. Ill post them when they annouce them.
Q will bring a physical game, but Clarkson plays its best games in physical games.
Also a change in the PP.
Lines
Sullivan Dodge Cayer
Isbister Zalewski Guthrie
Genovy D'Alvise Weller
Willemsen Kolu Arciero
Brekelmans Paquet
Grenzy Mason
Clitsome Bellows
Leggio

Hi Brett,
I did not get all the defensive pairings, so if you have them, would you please post them?

The Q's begin the game with three consecutive shots on goal.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:12 PM
5:20 into the first. No real chances to speak of yet.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 07:13 PM
And the Q's are still shooting.....and fortunately missing.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:17 PM
Quinnipiac draws first blood. SO far its been all Q.
1-0 Them
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:18 PM

Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 07:19 PM
OH, OH,
At 11:27 of the first period, the Q's score the first goal of the game.
It is questionable if Clarkson has even taken a shot on goal yet.
I'll be darned...those Bobcats just scored a second goal.....within 40 seconds of their first one.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:21 PM
9:30 left in the first.
Quinnipiac headed on the powerplay.

Bobcats tallies on the powerplay.
Hmmmm.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 07:23 PM
Now the Q's score on their power play.
I hear those idiotic fans cheering as the Q's score their third goal.
What a disaster for the Golden Knights.
Todd '86
02-03-2006, 07:26 PM
Wrong turn off I-95 and ended up at the Whale?
This is a nightmare.....
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:27 PM
Clarkson headed on the powerplay. Maybe we'll get a shot on goal.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 07:28 PM
Clarkson goes on the power play....perhaps they can come up with a shot or two and maybe even a goal.
Now Shawn Weller goes into the penalty box for interference.
This is absolutely inexcusable to have Clarkson play so poorly.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:28 PM
Nope. Weller off for inteference.
This is our worst period of the year. Hands down.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:32 PM
Penalties are over.
Zalewski draws an interference call.
Clarkson headed back on the powerplay.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 07:33 PM
Clarkson goes on the power play again with 1:52 remaining in the first period. Have the Golden Knights ever done so poorly in any game this season?

Really bad dream...somebody please wake me up.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:36 PM
It took 18 minutes, but Clarkson tallied their first shot.
end of the first.
Quinnipiac 3

That was pretty pathetic.

Oh great.....I have to go to work on my day off, can't go to the game, come home late, log on, check out the roundtable for good news....and I get...3-0 to the Q.....I am going to bed.
Todd '86
02-03-2006, 07:38 PM
More than pretty pathetic -- the definition of pathetic.
Gotta give the Q credit, at least they came to play.
Here's hoping coach is letting 'em have it in the locker room between periods.
LGTecher
02-03-2006, 07:40 PM
Maybe they looked past the Q's and were focused on...the P's? Gotta mind out P's & Q's if we're going to get home ice!

The second period is beginning now.
Clarkson was zero for two on their power play attempts in the first period. They only had one shot on goal in the entire first period.
It can't get any worse than our first period horror show.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 07:54 PM
In some good news, Clarkson women's team is up 2-0 on Q on a pair of Ashley Shaidle goals.
Clarkson gets its second shot. Not much of one, but its a shot.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 07:59 PM
Mr. Cool,
I'm so sorry your day was awful....and your knight is starting out the same way. Have a drink or two or......and relax with the rest of the unhappy Clarkson fans.:) Misery LOVES company.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 08:02 PM
Quinnipiac's band seems to consist of 1 trumpet player and a drummer. And theyve stolen the Clarkson music.
Clarkson putting some pressure on. 'Bout time.
A 3 on 1 and the pass to Cayer is in his skates. That sounds about right.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 08:03 PM
Clarkson seems to be generating a little more enthusiasm.
Clarkson had its best chance of the knight, with its first line going in on a three on one break. The puck got caught in David Cayer's skate, and no shot could be taken. Oh dear......what can the matter be?
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 08:05 PM
12 to play in the second. Clarkson headed on the powerplay.
Need one here.

Clarkson is outshooting the Q's this period. BUT
Jon Marshall is called for a hooking penalty.

Darn, I missed half-time. I must be losing my touch.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 08:17 PM
D'Alvise with a shorthanded chance and he hit the post! Had a wide open net. Freshman mistake.
Powerplay over. 6:25 left in the 2nd.
Clarkson headed on the powerplay. Let's Go Tech! Get one back!

The Clarkson power play provided no goals.
So guess what? The Q's are going on the power play....a hit from behind called against Mike Willemsen.....too bad.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 08:26 PM
The pathetic score at the end of the second period is
CLARKSON 1 .... AND .... QUINNIPIAC 3
Shawn Weller is called for another CU penalty.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 08:27 PM
Willemsen goes for a 2 minute hit from behind. Bobcats on the powerplay.
Powerplay expires, however Weller goes for charging at the end of the period. Clarkson will be a man down to start the third.

Perfect. Just perfect.
I agree, they have them right were they want them. ;)
I was umpiring a JV baseball game this past spring and it was the bottom of the 7th and the home team is down probably something like 35 - 0. So the head coach comes out to coach first base and hes standing in the box looking at his shoes, he leans into me and says, "Got 'em right were we want 'em." I think I laughed for the rest of the game.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 08:38 PM

Yeah, I've been in a few of those. Baseball's a funny game - no time limit. OTOH, Our boys better get thier arses in gear. There's only twenty minutes left, only scored one through the first forty, and this isn't a good road team.
Which, now that I think of it, doesn't bode too well for playoffs either. And while it might be the most convenient for me to get to, I'm sick of going to lynah.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 08:44 PM
Clarkson starts down a man.
Quinnipiac comes close, but Grenzy stops the loose puck. That was too close.
Clarkson kills the penalty, but Quinnipiac tallys on a hard shot.
4-1.

This team is awful on the road.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 08:45 PM
The third period is now starting.
The Q's scored again right after the power play ended....what a disgraceful thing to have happen.
The Q's now have four goals and the Golden Knights have one.....awful, just awful.
Now Steve Zalewski is called for interference.
Next it is Tyrell Mason's turn to go to the penalty box.
Q's are on a 5 on 3 power play.
Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 08:49 PM
Mason off for a cross check. Quinny on a long 5 on 3.
Dodge gets tangled up with Fisher, and was going to be called, but Quinnipiac matches it up. 5 on 3 for 40 seconds.
No discipline this period.
Todd '86

This team is awful on the road.
In road games, you look to experience, leadership, and goaltending.....of which we have none....I could be harsh being in a bad mood.

Nothing untrue about that. This is a young team, and its shown quite a bit after that SLU game in Ottawa.
Zalewski out of the box. 5 on 4. Mason back on the ice. Powerplays over.

I was just dozing off, and I heard those fans from CT cheering and cheering again.....now their team has scored its fifth goal toknight. Clarkson can only claim one goal....how humiliating.
Next, Nick Dodge is called for a hit from behind. The Q's lead 5 to 1.:(

Brett Gobe
02-03-2006, 09:01 PM
Dodge called for a hit from behind. Roll not too happy. Just a minor penalty.
Under 10 to play as Quinny goes on its 10th power play.

Not to sound too bitter (and I'm going to blame this on the fact that I'm really sick right now.) This is like the 5th low point for the season. It's getting a little sickening ending up towards the bottom of the league for 3 seasons in a row. And honestly, when do the excuses stop?
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 09:02 PM
Once again....a Q score.
the Q's have six goals.....we have one...what a nightmare.

Did everyone get sick last weekend?
I agree to a point. We are used to success and are not satisfied when the team comes out like this. But this team has no real #1 goaltender, 2 seinors, and really only 3 juniors who play regularly. I think Roll is a good coach who can get things done, but until the players (read, the underclassmen) step up and take some leadership, youre going to see these type of efforts.
There were a bunch of penalties, no DQ's. Clarkson ended up with a powerplay.

We have no discipline, no defense and no goaltending.....in that order.

8:19 left in the game.....
Both Shawn Weller and Philippe Paquet have gone to the dressing room.
Goldie Knight
02-03-2006, 09:16 PM
And Quinnipiac continues to press for more goals. So just what are the Golden Knights doing....who knows?
We were supposed to defeat this Quinnipiac team and lose to Princeton, according to the USCHO reporter for the ECAC.

02-03-2006, 09:19 PM
Oh my goodness, Gary just said the Princeton defeated the SLUzers toknight!
