Well this should be a very interesting game. Clarkson leads the overall series 6-2-1 with the teams last playing in 1989-90, an 11-1 Clarkson butt kicking. RIT has played some strange games this year. Their 3-2 win over SLU despite being outshot 68-15  and a 10-7 loss in a good old time 1970's hockey shootout with RPI ;) being 2 of the more memorable ones. So here's hopin we have no more "Team Rules Violations" and we don't look ahead to Saturdays game with SLU in Ottawa. LGT

My guess: Clarkson 5 RIT 2

You guys are really crazy. RIT is one of those teams that can beat you without being as good as you are.

Clarkson 4 RIT 3 OT

I know the woofing gods are listening, but to hell with them any way, 6-2 KNIGHTS, we miss the extra point! :D

Woof 8-2

Is that missed EP a 'dropkick' attempt?

Where is this hubris coming from? The Knights stole a bloody tie from the CHA's #2 team and got beat 3-0 by UVM.

What am I missing here? The woof gods are going to punish you guys bigtime.

Last three games - 1.33 GPG avg. Not sure they're going to get a big bunch, BUT home building will help...... 4-2 Knights (& maybe #4 will be an eng at the end).

Here is the most accurate information I could locate on RIT's record this year.

6 wins: Waterloo, Air Force, Canisius, St. Lawrence, American International, and Genesseo.

12 losses: Quinnipiac, Canisius, St. Lawrence, Alabama-Huntsville, (2 losses,) Robert Morris, Niagara, Sacred Heart, Union, (2 losses,) RPI, and Air Force.

2 ties: Robert Morris and Air Force.

Based on that information, it is easy to see why some Clarkson fans feel the Golden Knights will win the game Friday knight. Personally, the wider the margin of Clarkson victory, the happier I am. I love to see the Golden Knights score goals and improve their statistics. My prediction is...

CLARKSON 6...............RIT 3

LET'S GO TECHERS....ON TO TWO VICTORIES THIS WEEKEND.

Yeah you're right... after thinking about it again I say Clarkson improves their D and the final score is 8-0.

Besides you're the one always preaching that we should raise our expectations of the team. So I expect that Clarkson spanks this 1st year team and will be satisfied with nothing less. :p

Don't get too worked up we're just a bunch of fans having fun... if we want to predict 37-0, it really doesn't matter, I was posting in levity. BTW nobody told me if the missed extra point was a drop kick attempt. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that this is the one game on the schedule that completely doesn't matter with respect to PWR etc. because RIT isn't tournament-eligible.

The last 'first-year' team Clarkson played at Cheel was Wayne State in 1999-2000 and late in the year, when Clarkson had ended season on a 7-1 stretch. Finale, Wayne State wins 3-1.
Moral is: don't assume first-year team = cakewalk.

Not to worry, Chuck. I care ... but I don't care that much.

Just making a point that the Knight's performance at UVM wasn't really anything to write home about. Thus why should we get the rose colored glasses out and put them on? The guys have got a lot of work to do for this game against RIT.

I'm not assuming, I'm expecting. Clarkson is a storied program with a 3rd year coach, a bunch of draft picks playing at home against an expansion team. They should win easily and if not then expectations were not met.

Expectations were not met this past weekend either, but that does not mean that expectations should be lowered.

The above is posted in levity with tongue in cheek.

ps I like the use of the word "hubris"!

Upsets can happen, but if Vegas was putting a line on this game Clarkson would be the favorite.

BTW Chuck, it will be a drop kick wide! :D

Im expecting Clarkson to do so well because they havent done too well offensively the last few weeks...

They will come out determined and to show whos boss in their own rink.. If RPI can put up 10.. we can put up 11...

Well, the ECAC correspondent, Timothy Muir McDonald, has posted his prediction for toknight's game on USCHO.

CLARKSON 6...........RIT 2

I'm not certain, but I believe David Leggio will be in goal this evening. David has two wins and one tie in his last three Clarkson games. And he was absolutely awesome in stopping all five shots in the shootout against Bemidji State.

My prediction for the star of the game is Shea Guthrie. Comments anyone?

TROUNCE THE TIGERS TOKNIGHT.:)

OK, OK Vic's the guru again with his 5-2 prediction. I got the eng and all but Chris' shortie, which was the gamebreaker. I guess, from what Bob said that Guthrie did not get the DQ, so he should be OK for the SLUts.
Good 3rd period KNIGHTS -- going to have to have all three solid tomorrow!!!!

WHOO WHOO. Can I pick em.

The good:

The score :)

Scorers: Rutherglen, D'Alvise, Dodge, Isbister (His first as a Knight), Cayer

The not so good:

Fell asleep for 10 min in the second and let RIT tie the score at 2

Guthrie another 5 min major :( .

Get some sleep guys. SLU early tomorrow. LGT

Yeah, and I note you're the only one with guts enuf to pick the SLUzers game score. But I think you're off on that one -- we'll see:p

I'm hopin they prove me wrong. Play like they did for 10 min at the start of the second toknight and I will be right. Play like they did the rest of toknights game and I will be wrong.

An old adage says....take no team lightly. And RIT gave us all a scare, coming from behind in the second period to score two power play goals...the only goals scored during the whole second period. Then, a very nice thing happened....Matt Isbister scored his first collegiate goal, the game winner, to give the Golden Knights the lead. After Shea Guthrie was given a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct, his good friend Chris D'Alvise scored a short-handed goal to give Clarkson a 4 ~ 2 lead. Finally, the always vigilant Assistant Captain Nick Dodge scored into the empty net...with an assist from David Cayer.

Congratulations to the following Golden Knights for their hard work in scoring goals and earning assists.

1. Brodie Rutherglen...with help from Chris D'Alvise and Adam Bellows, who had a great game.

2. David Cayer...with assists from Nick Dodge and Mike Sullivan.

3. Matt Isbister....with an assist from Shea Guthrie.

4. Chris D'Alvise....with an assist from Philippe Paquet.

5. Nick Dodge... help from David Cayer.

I thought David Leggio played a fine game, allowing only two power play goals.

As Shea Guthrie was given a game misconduct, NOT a game disqualification, we expect he will play today. Shea had been in the locker room when the whistle sounded indicating that Clarkson had scored. Chris's goal was just awesome, securing the victory for the Golden Knights.

Clarkson had seven penalties during the game, and RIT had six.

We will need to play better today in order to defeat SLU....and we will.

OUR KNIGHTS ARE AWESOME.:)

Tech MUST work hard!

So...can I pick em? ;)

That's the benefit of having coached this game (I think) as well as having played it.

Need a more consistent effort vs Slu!

Nice job, Vicb, although I will stick with my post too. RIT had the Knights sweating it for awhile.
