From where I stand, Clarkson is actually a bit ahead of schedule development-wise this year. Yes, there have been a lot of NC losses early in the season, some to very strong teams, some to rather average teams. But let's look at the glass as half full.
The Knights have quite a few games in hand over most teams in the ECAC and they have yet to lose a league game. On a percentage basis they are leading the league. In the new year, we can expect this team to come together and to come on strong -- consistant with prior form. An ECAC RS title is not out of the question barring an improbable string of injuries (knock on wood).
Look at some of the ECAC competitiion. The Knights' split with UML/UNH was equivalent to Cornell's split with BU. Maybe even better now that BU got beaten by UNO. So we are left with Cornell's three CHA wins compared to Clarkson's early season losses against some pretty decent teams. I personally think that Clarkson will be better than Cornell at the end of the day even if you can't tell that to some of the Big red woofers on the other board.
Actually, I think the scheduling this year has been crazy like a fox. I see this team making some real noise yet on the national scene.
