Where is Pitcairn?
The town of Pitcairn is right on the Lewis-St. Lawrence county border. Route 3 passes through it and, I think, gets close to the village itself. I have a photograph of the 'Town of Pitcairn' sign that I took in 2001 (while on the way to that year's alumni reunion) as a souvenir.
Haven't been into the village of Pitcairn itself, though.

Scott has it right, though you would have looked a long time and passed right through without finding Pitcairn (no streets, signs, or actual any indication of civilization other than a few houses on the side of the road. The town of Pitcairn sign is near Rose Road where my great-great grandfather lived. Harrisville is the closest village, which now has a bypass around the village.
East Pitcairn is in St. Lawrence, and West Pitcairn is in Lewis county.
